+29 Internets | Heh, I wonder how far the song would have to actually go for you guys to admit that it is racist, or that maybe it is inappropriate for the potential head of a major political organization (one that SHOULD be hoping to make significant inroads with minorities if they want to keep winning elections) to send out a racist song as his Christmas card. If it was a song about Bush you would see so many Conservative panties in a wad, hypocrasy doesn't really surprise me much anymore but god damn dude. |

The Republican party is the strictly a party of the Southern United States and caters to those types of people only. They are no longer a mainsteam political party. It will become even more clear to the world by 2012 and by 2016 they will be a very fringe, militant party of hatred. Even if they elect a token like Micheal Steele to be the RNC Chairman the facts will remain the facts. They are past the point of no return. The Tennessee Republican party came out of the closet during the past election and was proud to be extreme racists. The rest of the party will do so in the next few years. Republican racism is nothing new however they are more open about it now. Here is an article from 2002. Republicans should not run away from it but embrace it. If that is how you are and what you believe make it known to the world. After the 2008 Republican convention no one had any doubts what they stand for...and against. Republican Racism Quote:

+25 Internets | If this song thing cast the shadow of racism on the guy, it also exposes a critical lack of political acumen on his part... something republican leaders are in dire need of.

| Watch as this former VA Republican Party chairman takes up for the song and gets angry with a news anchor about it. She suggests that it is ok but he should not have let anyone find out about it. Ditto Rush! |

| Once again, lack of historical perspective makes you spew the stupid. The pendulum swings, as it always does in our two party system, and it will swing back, and back again, and back again, as long as we retain our first-past-the-post system, with the electoral college and single-member legislative races. People have declared each party dead at various points in the past. People will declare each party dead at various points in the future. During these periods, thick-skulled loudmouths at the fringe of the prevalent party will engage in smug asshattery about how the other party is done. Congratulations on playing your role in this iteration of the great story that is American democracy. |

Anyway, in a way IRB is right. While we do have demographic shifts from left to right the parties do change, I mean we're not voting for Federalist and Whigs anymore even though some of the ideology of these parties still exist. | |
