They aren't reproduced copies, they are official copies from the state. That's what the states give out, they never release the original, in fact the article even says that it is against Hawaii state law to release the original of a birth certificate. When I joined the military, I provided an official copy of my birth certificate. For my security clearance. For my current job. For an old job when I had to get an official passport to do some state dept travel. Etc. These people are just being crazy, there are plenty of valid criticisms to make of the administration and every time someone talks about dumb shit like this is invalidates those things just a little bit.

These are like the same people who think that the Clintons had some long list of people killed or Bush drinks baby blood to stay young or whatever.

Yeah, what he said. When I first went for my drivers license years ago they made me go get an official copy from Santa Clara. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens.

We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

This has already been discussed at length. If the red states succeeded, they'd be broke within a year. All red states except Texas take significantly more money in back entitlements than they contribute in taxes to the federal government. The red states have benefited from the most extreme form of welfare, paid for by the blue states, since the civil war.

And they would respond by raising food prices as the blue states all get food from red states Those government subsidies are to keep food cheap for the blue staters. And remember if you broke it by county instead of state (which would make more sense as blue states are really just states with high urban populations) you would be very isolated land wise, hell even 3/4 of cali is red if you look at countys.

It's actually pretty evenly split between Red/Blue states as far as farmland goes (Table: Number and Size of Farm Land by State).

Where would you learn how to do anything but farming, though? We've got most of the top Universities.

Yeah that is why I amended it to mention County by county as the farming areas in blue states are overwhelmingly red areas. And remember a lot of schools are in small "college towns" where the students rarely vote as residents

Can you provide a source for your listing of which states get how much/contribute how much from the fed. govt? That would be interesting reading, thanks.
