Looks like Obama will be safe regardless of the Health Care Reform debacle. The Republicans only have a bunch of scrubs to try to defeat him. This is like the Cleveland Browns (Republicans) going against the New England Patriots (Democrats).

Huckabee, Romney, Palin See Most Republican Support for '12

Quote:
PRINCETON, NJ -- Looking ahead to the 2012 presidential election, 71% of Republicans say they would seriously consider voting for Mike Huckabee. This gives Huckabee a slight edge over Mitt Romney (65%) and Sarah Palin (65%) in this early test of the strength of several potential Republican contenders. A majority of Republicans also say they would seriously consider voting for Newt Gingrich, but far fewer say they are currently ready to support the lesser-known Tim Pawlenty or Haley Barbour.

It is unbelievable that Sarah Palin is still considered a viable candidate. Republicans are a bunch of morons. Obama would have to kill live puppies on TV then eat them to not win reelection. Even then he would be able to beat Palin.

Huckabee isn't much better. Personally, I don't want a pastor in chief.

Romney is the best choice out of the available candidates. People have a problem getting past his religion however which holds him back.

That is a good article. And I really hope the GOP listen to it.

I'm hoping, in the end, that the GOP will embrace Ron Paul. It's far fetched and wont happen but I feel that Paul would be their strongest contender. I foresee another Nader election; an election where a 3rd party comes close to changing our system to 3 parties. Nader came within 2% of the popular vote. I think both the GOP and Obama will lose to a 3rd party. Not lose in terms of the presidency but a loss to the change in public dissidence. Obama has time but not much with 2010 GOP gains. Dem's may not lose all the elections but GOP will make at least 10-15 seats.

The nation needs a party of social liberals and fiscal conservatives.

Ron Paul could never woo the defense industry or banking interests enough to be a viable Republican candidate. He'd be better off going back to the LP and trying to build it up instead of making the Republican party more libertarian.

People who think Palin is a serious contender (quite a few, apparently, even if you're generous and factor in that one-third of respondents to that poll were fucking around at her expense)... well, let's just say at the very least their social agendas would not line up with Ron Paul's.

I wouldn't call Pawlenty a scrub even in a blue state such as this (minnesota) had had a lot positive support from both sides. Of the list I think he's the best the GOP has to offer...which with that list, isn't saying much.

You'd have to put a fucking gun to my mothers head to get me to vote for this hack after his concession speech last year. Best of luck to you dipshits if you choose Romney in the next election, regardless of his religious views.

2010 elections are going to be a repeat of District 23 in NY. Unless they somehow get unified beforehand there is going to be massive infighting in the Republican party, the schism will continue to grow and both sects of the party will split the republican vote leading to more Democrat victories.

While I agree there will be infighting, history shows that people will turn on either party when the economy is down. I believe that enough Dem's will cross over to a 3rd party to make this happen. Both parties are ripe for a split. Also, district 23 was a mishandle and wake-up call for the GOP. I wouldn't expect a repeat. The GOP desperately is struggling for momentum and the Dem's don't seem to realize they aren't as popular as they believe.

RNC chair Steele: Some white Republicans are ’scared of me’

Quote:
During a weekend interview, Michael Steele told NewsOne's Roland Martin that he has experienced fear from other selected members of his party because of the color of his skin.

"I mean I've been in the room and they've been scared of me," the RNC chairman said about fellow Republicans.
What is the Intrade for when Steele steps down "to spend more time with his family"?
