Find me a quote where any administration official said "debt doesn't matter." What has been said is more like "in the short term the risks are much worse if we don't do something and unfortunately more debt will be the result, however once the crisis has passed we WILL have to reign in the deficit and debt."

Seriously, it's like GW was running a surplus and Obama came in and fucked everything up. The reality is he was handed a country in the worst shape it has been in decades, if not centuries. He's not a magic negro, alright? The US is going to take decades to get it's shit back together, much like Canada did during the 90's and early part of this decade through spending restraint and good fiscal management. Slamming the brakes on government spending during a financial crisis and recession would only have made things much, much worse.

He was handed a country in very poor shape and decided to borrow a truckload of money and do a lot of menial worthless shit with it. Bush being a worthless failure doesn't mean its cool for everyone in power now to continue carrying the torch.

What's easier to do fiscally? Pay off your house in 3 years or 30 years?

Even though you pay the purchase price in interest over those 30 years, you are still able to actually buy the home, whereas it's nearly impossible to do in 3 and would break you if you tried.

Doesn't seem like such a farfetched idea for me, when the leaders actually force the debt to be paid back during the good times.

Heh I'm kind of surprised that they'd have the balls to doctor "live" footage after the fake rally footage last week that Jon Stewart called out and they said "oops it was a mistake guys lol".

I hope Stewart et al keep calling them out and they keep going on the air with "oops our bad lol sry". Probably won't change anything but at least it should give us some laughs.
