Jindal signed the "Sex Offender Chemical Castration Bill" in Louisiana which gives him ++man points imo. Using an axe and streaming it live on teh intrawebs would be better, but i guess we've gotta go one step at a time.>;p

from his website:
"SB 144 by Senators Nick Gautreaux, Amedee, Dorsey, Duplessis and Mount provides that on a first conviction of aggravated rape, forcible rape, second degree sexual battery, aggravated incest, molestation of a juvenile when the victim is under the age of 13, or an aggravated crime against nature, the court may sentence the offender to undergo chemical castration. On a second conviction of the above listed crimes, the court is required to sentence the offender to undergo chemical castration.

This bill also provides that a court may instead order a physical castration instead of the chemical castration. Convicted sex offenders who undergo castration must still serve their full sentence, as their treatment will not affect their sentencing. Under the bill, if a convicted sex offender fails to appear for their chemical castration, they will serve an additional sentence of three to five years."

You'd have to be a turbo-cunt not to vote for a guy who would sign a bill like that into law ;p

I wouldn't say Louisiana is "in shape". Not yet, anyway. You know a state is fucked up when a lobbyist from Texas says the state is too corrupt to do business in, and that's exactly what I was told, verbatim, by a former board member for our company.

And I think Jindal is rather moderate for a conservative, except on abortion, which he is very far right on, far enough right to scare a boatload of moderates, I think.

Jindal has a positive subjective quality that other Republicans do not have which is very similar to Obama. He is not prone to hyperbole, hatred, and anger like every other Republicans. He appears to have solid REAL conservative values that are not just used as a disguise for racism and xenophobia. He seems genuine and does not seem to be a stooge of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity like Michael "Uncle Tom" Steele, Congressional Republicans, and the other so called "Leaders" of the party such as Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Giuliani.

The only problem Jindal will have is emerging as a Leader in a party whose foundation is grounded in racial hatred. If he can do that, he will be President of the US one day. I think Jindal has a very bright future. If the Republicans continue to put people up like Sarah Palin and listening to Rush Limbaugh, thinking that the old Southern Strategy will win them an election they will continue their self destruction.

The Republican party will benefit as much from the fairness doctrine as the country as a whole. If talk radio is dismantled they will come back into the fold as a reasonable political party. In it's current form talk radio is the foremost danger to our country. The misinformation is extremely dangerous and keeps those who listen to it ignorant.

As I recall, the Clinton administration brought him in to work on health policy issues. That's a pretty big deal given how conservative he is. And he was in his mid-20s at the time, I believe. He's smart as hell, he's an extremely good speaker (and, though I haven't seen a ton of him, he seems much better on his feet than Obama is), and he's demonstrated in a short time that he's a very competent executive. Like Palin, he has developed a solid record in a short term as governor, but unlike Palin, he's got a lot of experience and perspective on issues on a national and international scale and he's better at articulating his positions. He's definitely the top Republican prospect currently. There are a few others that should probably be on the A-list right now (not that that means much given how far out we are - it's what, 47 months til the next presidential term starts?) - Mike Pence and Eric Cantor in Congress, maybe Tim Pawlenty from Minnesota, maybe Palin if she can rehabilitate her image and get some more experience dealing with non-Alaskan issues. But Jindal seems to be head and shoulders above them in terms of ability and charisma. Expect to see him get slimed like crazy over the next 4-8 years as the Democrats try to make him a less attractive candidate.

This is why I love you IRB. You're such an entertaining little tool.

Censorship of people's political viewpoints is a good thing for the country? Really? Please.

If the FCC shuts down DailyKos and Huffington Post, will the Democrats return to being a reasonable political party?

And oh yeah, please overreach by trying to bring back the Fairness Doctrine. I can't wait for conservatives to get back into power so we can impose "fairness" through conservative hiring quotas for print/broadcast/internet media.

I don't think chemical castration is cutting it off, I think they just inject anti-testosterone drugs into you or something.

You are comparing some obscure blogs to a multi-billion dollar misinformation outlet. Talk radio should be dismantled at all costs for the good of the country. It is not about "fairness", it is about taking them off the air. Democrats/Progressives do not listen to talk radio. Hopefully by implementing the Fairness Doctrine these radio stations will go out of business. It is not a matter of getting some Liberals on the air to bash the Republicans. It is a matter of taking the current crop of talk radio off the air as a public menace.

Actually killing talk radio will help the Republicans get back to power. Not the opposite.

One of the Leaders of the Republican Party, Ann Coulter, defends the KKK, aka Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC) in her new book. How in the hell do you think the Republican party will ever be a viable party when one of their Leaders is a blatant racist?

For those of you who do not know about the CCC, do a little research on that organization. Then look at the how these 'real Americans' are in line with the Republican party, talk radio, and Republican commentators. Talk radio enables people like Ann Coulter to have a voice and raise money on behalf of the white supremacist movement. The Republican party is little more than a front for the entire movement.

Council of Conservative Citizens

Quote:
The Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC) is an American far-right organization that supports a large variety of conservative causes in addition to white nationalism and white separatism. Some members of the CofCC board of directors are former leaders of the segregationist Citizen Councils of America, founded by Maj. Bob Patterson, which is sometimes referred to as the White Citizens' Council.
The CofCC is the true Republican party and is a "white supremacist organization as classified by the Anti-Defamation League. That is how the Republican party has stayed in power and why the selection of Michael Steele as RNC Chair means nothing. Steele was chosen as a puppet or token to hide the true agenda. Some of you who are not intimately involved with the Republican party may not know the true facts of the party.

More on the CCC.
Quote:
The CCC's columnists have written that black people are "a retrograde species of humanity," and that non-white immigration is turning the U.S. population into a "slimy brown mass of glop." Its website has run photographic comparisons of pop singer Michael Jackson and a chimpanzee. It opposes "forced integration" and decries racial intermarriage. It has lambasted black people as "genetically inferior," complained about "Jewish power brokers," called gay people "perverted sodomites," and even named the late Lester Maddox, the baseball bat-wielding, arch-segregationist former governor of Georgia, "Patriot of the Century."
