Richard Dawkins takes the point of view that the burden of proof is not on those of us who choose to believe that there is no god, but instead the burden falls on the folk who believe in a hyper-dimensional all-powerful space god. Thus the side which believes that which is more outrageous should be the side to provide the proof. Lets apply that standard to JFK's death.

All things being equal, upon which side should the burden of proof fall? Is it the side who tend to believe that some nut job with a rifle shot JFK. Or is it the crowd who believes that some sort of inter-governmental/alien/mafia/KGB conspiracy was behind his assassination?

It's really sad to see the naivete of people today regarding their government. I'd be willing to bet that most of the people on this board actually think their representatives are working for them, or are trying to. So many people act it's absolutely impossible for our government to conspire against the people or for evil people to rise to the top when history is littered with this shit. I see so many people who completely disregard all so-called "conspiracy theories" saying, "Our government wouldn't do that". I've got news for you people. Your government is actively working against you. People are so ready to eat up what the government tells them because if they knew the truth it would crush their entire world. They don't want to know because it's easier being ignorant, believing what you are told, and trusting in government.

The CIA was foiled by some sheep herders, who were trained by the CIA to foil the Russians, which was all an elaborate ruse so that twenty-odd years later the CIA could blow up two buildings in NY and blame it on sheep herders. I agree with you. I do think we do not question our government nearly enough and we simply live on trusting that they are working in our best interests. This has been proven false in history and especially in the last eight years. However, the bolded part of your post is one of the reasons people have such problems agreeing with conspiracy theorists. Why don't you tell us why instead of just stating your word as fact? You tell us not to mindlessly believe our government and yet in the same paragraph say facts you expect us to mindlessly believe because you think you are right. I'm just saying to either say it differently or to back it up with sources/logic.
