The townies don't exist here, for folks with an attachment to their home towns they head to chicago over any other city. The major city neighborhoods are basically full of pilgrims from out of state or state schools. They've shut down most all of the projects in chicago and shuttled those people out to distant suburbs, where they have the luxury of a 3-4 hour bus ride to get to work in the city. Our government in action.

i grew up about 45 miles south of chicago age of 12 moved to cobden. it is like 15 miles south of carbondale. it was a culture shock.

when i tell people stories about cobden, people always make a joke i am straight out of cobden. like straight out of compton. when i go back home it is a sad place everyone who didn't get away is a complete wreck. no one has a job, they are all on meth.

there is so much drugs running though the area. one of the kids from my high school got caught with over a 100lbs of pot and something like 150k dollars.

if you ever watch Americas dumbest criminals, the guy who crashes his van in to a tree like 4 times for insurance and recorded it over his kids cartoons. he was in my class. he dropped out on the last day of finals on his seinor year. he literately only had to take one government class final to graduate he went to school but refused to take the test so he didn't graduate. i cant find the video now. here is a link to the story

one of my friends got married right after high school, had 2 kids divorced. married another women with 2 kids her ex and his ex then proceeded to get married and they all take turns watching the kids.

my neighbors are hippys at my parents place, two of neighbors divorced, their spouces left. the ones that stayed then got married to each other. their kids then started dating. they are step brother and sister and about 9 years apart 19-28.

there is a "migrant camp". it is where all the mexicans live. they come in every summer for work. it is like a concentration camp, long buildings with 1 room apts where a whole family will live.

the next town over is anna, people said it stood for Aint No Niggers Alowed. it was spray paited from time to time on signs entering the town.


growing up there i always though well our class is different once people my age grow up things will be different there but, i was wrong they are just as bad.
