| More along the lines how, which health care proposal by either camp seeks to extend coverage or enable coverage for working families while simultaneously limiting reimbursements or promoting preventive treatments to limit costs? I mean has either Obama or McCain even once said they wanted to find a way to lower costs other than cutting payments to doctors? Structuring the system so that problems are taken care of before they escalate (such as early signs of kidney problems)? Limiting which drugs are covered by the govt. backed plans so people who want more choice can have it but only if they can afford it? Addressing the fact that certain diseases, such as cancer, receive an astronomical amount of money for treatment? At what point does society limit how much to spend on a drug that costs 6-figures a year if it only prolongs life a short while? Is it worth it at 2 months? Will anyone even have the balls to address this? There's one, I'd say drilling but its been beaten to death. How about Iraq. Things are improving there. Do we get out as fast as we can and let whatever may be may be? Or |

| If you are expecting either side to make definitive, concrete plans on how to approach the problems facing this nation during an election season, I'm afraid you are in the wrong country. Neither side is willing to state with any granularity any of their so-called "solutions" because every solution has its own problems. No solution is perfect. Better to be vague than get pinned down with specifics that your opponent can rip apart. That is the way of American politics. |

| Must have been a good choice to get the liberals riled up like this. 10 pages ago it was a collective Obama circle jerk about how its going to be a landslide. Now we have them talking about the only way a republican can win is to go after character while doing the exact same thing on the other side of their mouth. Threads like this are proof enough of why our political system is total shit. There is no reason to change because people still march to the same drum regardless of what is being said. If it was the democrats VP the republicans would be saying the same shit as the libs right now and vice versa. Tearing down someone is so much easier than talking about how to fix the actual issues, something neither party has any interest in doing because the country in general lacks the testicular fortitude to deal with what has to be done. Status quo all the way baby!

Obama became president of the Harvard Law Review in 1990. He has studied politics, world events, and the law for the past 25 years. He has, at every opportunity, proven himself to be a cunning intellectual capable of deciphering the greatest issues of our times. Case in point, calling the Iraq War as a fundamentally flawed action that would only increase the strength of terrorists. He was right, and he was right in 2002 before we even went to fucking war. His energy plan is a thing of brilliance, simultaneously providing 4 billion dollars to the automotive industry to shift towards hybrid cars while also funneling billions more to the renewable energies such as solar and wind. Is there a better way to remove our dependence on foreign oil? Absolutely not, and McCain is only standing in Obama's way because he feels that 'Drill here, drill now' is better than 'Research other sources of energy, and drill never again and save both our planet and our country'. McCain wanted to invade Iraq the months following 9/11 without any proof. McCain sings songs about bombing Iran. McCain supports exporting cigarretes to Iran in order to kill their citizen. McCain has never seen a country he didn't want to finger fuck with a few bombs and a couple 100 year occupations. Palin figured out a way to run a town of 4000, mostly consisting of trailers owned by people too stupid to attach wheels to their home, into 20 million dollars worth of debt by building a 15 million dollar sports complex while at the same time cutting funding off to a museum, removing vital taxes to support her town while increasing the sales tax. The sales tax increase, by the way, drove away business and left the town in financial ruin. Oh, are you guys wondering where she got the land rights to build that complex? You should be, because she attempted to steal it from a private owner via Emminent Domain. The guy took her to court, and the judge told her to get bent and now the town has to pay 10 times the original amount for the land. This wouldn't be too much of an issue if it weren't for the fact she didn't understand one of the basic great powers of the government, whereas Obama studied such laws for decades. This incident showcases how vastly more experienced Obama is than Palin. Fiscal retardation and foreign war mongering. Yup, this is the ticket to vote for you if you couldn't get enough Bush and Cheney. And as for the elistist bullshit? The Obamas were paying off student loans as of a few years ago, and they purchased their million dollar home after Barack authored two best selling books. He took a 19k job right out of law school as a community organizer in Chicago because he wanted to make a difference. Obama rallied the community behind the liberal movement, and his sincerity and passion to help out the lower and middle class (and subsequently aim to create economic equality between blacks and whites) has catapulted him to be the presidential nominee. McCain came back from the war, ditched his disfigured wife and married a millionaire cheerleader and had her daddy payroll his Congressional campaign. He doesn't know how many houses he owns. He thinks Obama is middle class because the guy is only worth 4 million dollars. McCain has been in Washington for the past 26 years. He was the only Republican involved with the Keating Five scandal, one of the worst congressional scandals in the past 20 years. He only has the reputation as a maverick because afterwards he restructured his shattered image to take ideological stances against his own party. Obviously he doesn't actually believe any of it, because he is violating his own campaign finance reforms by abusing the public financing system (he was for it, before he was against it). He supports another half century of dependence on foreign oil by refusing to provide funding to match Obama's support for renewal energy. Please commence bitching about how all we talk about are the issues....now!
