I think this will end up helping McCain more than hurting him.

Her being pregnant is probably not going to change anyone's mind who has made it up, but this turn of events will actually bolster his support from the far right who are stupid enough to think that the president should "be one of us" and her daughter getting pregnant "could happen to anyone" and that she is strong for going through with it and the liberal media is going to be so mean to the poor girl.

And look, I fucking hate Democrats, but not as much as I hate Republicans. There was some lady named Sara Taylor on NPR earlier. Asked how McCain could tap someone with as little experience as Palin she said that Palin has more EXECUTIVE DECISION MAKING EXPERIENCE than Obama OR Biden because LEGISLATORS don't make decisions.

HELLO? Using that argument, Palin has more experience than fucking McCain! Are you serious? Her being mayor of a 9,000 person town really makes her capable of being a heartbeat away from COMMANDER IN CHIEF of our nation? This is a bad, bad acid trip that I wish we could wake up from.

Don't forget the fact that she is a foreign policy and national defense expert because Alaska is the state in closest proximity to Russia.

The problem for the Republicans is that they will have to spend the next couple of weeks in spin mode instead of attacking Obama. The Republicans can not win with out character assassination and distortions. Simple as that.

I'm just so glad we finally find something to talk about outside the issues. This shit is important.

They won't have to spin shit. "We stand in support of Palin's daughter, we are proud of her decision, abstinence only education is fucking awesome" will work fine for the people that matter to them at this point. If McCain was still courting the socially liberal / governmentally conservative independent group that he appealed to initially he would need to spin it, but he's fucked himself on that for a while now. Choosing Palin was the final nail in that coffin.

JFK was the last senator turned president we had and his father had to rig the election for that to happen. It doesnt happen often becuase Senators dont make good leaders. thats why i wanted someone like Romney over McLame. shit, i was hoping for Haley Barbor to run for pres cuz he kicked ass during the Katrina aftermath. I even would have loved a Jeb Bush bid over McLame. at least Mccain has a stronger ticket for having a real leader and a female as a VP over 2 senators.

Let's talk about the issues.

Obama doesn't have experience to lead the nation because he's only been in the Senate for a few years and only a state senator for that. Convince me that Palin can do it better than him.

R: Obama doesn't have the experience to lead the nation.
D: But ... uh ... you just chose someone with even less experience to be the backup for a 72 year old President.
R: She has been an executive decision maker for a city and now a state, AND she lives closer to Russia than the rest of the US so she has foreign policy experience!
D: Oh come on, she's just a publicity stunt to get voters.
R: Yeah, just like your president choice is!

You just can't argue with that logic. Because Obama is inexperienced (in your eyes) that makes it OK for her to be? That's like -

R: Obama is elitist and out of touch!
D: McCain is even more rich and can't remember how many houses he has.
R: WTF Obama lives in a mansion so how can you even make that argument??
D: But ... you just said ... oh, never mind.

A severely developmentally disabled kid is a 24/7 job. Although the image of Trig fingerpainting the whitehouse with his own feces is amusing in a morbid sort of way.
How does every other parent with a child with this affliction deal with it? They still have to work, just like everyone else.

I'd ask you to stop being so stupid, but I don't think it is possible.

So the office of VP is the same as any other job? Maybe Obama should go pick up a second graduate degree while he's in office, I'm sure that would fly.

Palin doesn't even know what the VP does. I'm sure she'll have plenty of time to do anything she wants. You can't honestly expect her to do anything important since she is so ignorant of the tasks involved.

No one really knows what the office of the VP does, not even Sarah Palin.
