That's pretty fucking embarassing. Holy shit. She cannot, for the life of her, come up with any justication for the campaign's claims regarding her "foreign policy experience" as governor of Alaska due to it's proximity with Russia. Nothing whatsoever.

At least she threw Canada in to the mix, though. Course, she can't demonstrate she's ever been involved with any negotiations or issues with Canada either. I mean fuck, she could probably have rolled out some bullshit about pipelines, at the very least. Goddamn.

Many Conservatives are crazy like that. They call it 'patriotism'.

I've known some that deny the Iran-Contra affair. Because Reagan said so.

Youre right.

The other old white guy saying it is a guy who also used fear to start the Iraq war who was "really close to being able to attacking us with all those WMD's."

You are the worst kind of hypocrite. You rail against the bush administration for selling this country on the Iraq war using fear but when they do it again you lap it up and ask "please sir may I have another."

ugh.

btw has anyone else been real impressed with chris dodd's handling of this whole situation?

REALLY???????????

man if its one thing Palins still not short on its ppl making excuses for her.

If someone offered me, as a foot surgeon, 100,000k to do brain surgery on them and I accepted it, knowing I wasn't a surgeon, and I fucked it up, would you seriously ONLY blame the patient?
I agree with you to a point, she should of known what her limitations were and understand that running for VP of the US isn't the same as running for mayor of small town or even running for Governor. There's no shame in turning down the request, I'm sure it's happened a hell of a lot in this country's history.

That being said, there should be equal if not more blame on McCain. It is McCain's (and the people around him) responsibility to know who he's picking, what that person's strong and weak points are, what baggage (if any) they have and the positives and negatives of chosing that person to be on the ticket. Perhaps he puts too much confidence in his people, that they would be able to train someone into a seasoned politician in one month.

His campaign has been so focused on the Hillary aspect of this whole entire thing (remember his ads on Hillary before the DNC) that he figured he could get a token woman on the ticket and people would hand him the election. Makes me wonder, if Hillary won the nomination, does he select a black VP candidate?

i said "would you ONLY blame the patient" for a reason :P ive stated several times that its incredibly damaging to mccains reputation as a wizened experienced decision maker/leader that he picked her.

McCain picked her. He could have picked anyone on Earth, and he picked her. It's his fucking fault. There will always be geniuses, stupid people, and the C students in between. It's not for us to judge, I don't think Stephen Hawking posts on this board. But it is the leadership decision that McCain made which is called into question with the actions and statements of Palin.

like the palin interview is a joke. like its something that id EXPECT to see on SNL (palins answers).

seriously, its like a fucking satire.

im reminded of some movie with kirsten dunst, denise richards and kirstie allie about a pageant in MN which was a spoof...thats seriously what her talking reminds me of.

personally im of the opinion that mccain suspending his campaign was not only a political grandstand manuever....but it hasn't really caught fire in the press that hes asking for palins to be moved back too.

the mccain ppl didnt realize just how fucking dumb palin was and now theyre like FUCK she cant handle katie fucking couric she'll be eaten alive in a debate....mccain suspending his campaign also served to take the spotlight off the request to move the VP debate back.

Pretty much like Matt Damon said, it's like a bad Disney movie, where the plucky hockey mom charms herself into America's heart and then stares down the evil dictator, using some of the folksy stuff she learned around the hockey ring. It is absurd.

After what happened in 2000?

Who knows how many counties will rig their polls, or how many blacks will be told "er... actually you cant vote cuz uhhh... yeah"

Unfortunately you can't dismiss this, either. Ridiculous too, as this is America.
