Well to be fair North American auto makers are getting absolutely killed by the Japanease, so that low cost loan will help them. Note it isnt a bail out it is a low interest loan so it will be paid back. Granted Crystler, GM, Ford etc could have been more proactive in figuring out high mileage cars were the way of the future, this was a sensable thing for congress to pass where 700b cause some dumb fucks wanted to get rich off speculating on foreclosures can blow me

I still don't agree with it, at least in principle. The automakers failed to keep up with the market, and they are suffering for it. They DESERVE to suffer for it. That's what capitalism is. Suffering and happy meal toys.

If you or me bang Palin, it's epic (at the same time and it's LEGENDARY!). Pics of Putin backdooring Palin over the Resolute desk would probably not lead to increased American influence in Asia.

ive always felt the Japanese auto makers are more successful because they make appealing car interiors and because GM car dealerships are the worst fucking places ever compared to a honda or toyota dealer.

They would actually have to make a profit to pay back those loans. At this point, even breaking even may not be on the horizon. Credit being more restrictive and the possibility of a recession both make it far less likely that people go out and buy new cars. Do they even have an upcoming car that is a) not going to be sold at a loss, and b) even moderately competitive?

I think it is telling that he appeared on the CBS Evening News first, the same place where Palin just blew it big.

I think the lack of republican participation is due to the fact that this message board is vastly overpopulated with democrats. Any time a republican writes anything the democrats jump on them, telling them how stupid they are, to stop posting, etc. It's not a debate anymore, it's a big flame war. Any real discussion stopped somewhere around page 2.

Or... Since democrats seem to like to believe that all republicans are either elitist millionaires or broke-ass trailer trash, then maybe we aren't posting because we're either too busy looking for our welfare check, or I'm too busy flying around the world with supermodels while we throw middle class citizens out of the airplane without parachutes for fun.

Or maybe because todays news is soo fucking disheartening that they have no way to defend it?

Oh fucking cry more, when this thread is going through pages per hour while Khorum, manseed, aychamo, and spitz troll everyone they consider a liberal they aren't complaining. The guy you are quoting writes stupid ass posts about wanting to bone Palin when he is hammered, or pretends to be trolling when he posts dumb shit and gets called on it. Maybe, just maybe, people who support McCain are less interested in discussing when the terms aren't as favorable. When Obama was down in the polls after the convention, you saw a drop in talk about Obama too. It happens. But regardless, aychamo is fucking dumb.

Karl Rove can not even spin Palin:

Quote:
Canada's esteemed think-tank, the Fraser Institute, hosted a gala dinner last night featuring as keynote speaker Republican Karl Rove. He is considered the "brains" behind the Bush election victories. He was also Bush's key advisor. Last night, he did party spin but said something significant.
A Toronto businessman asked him if he thought Sarah Palin would make a good President.

"I don't know," said Rove.

If Rove doesn't know, we should all be worried. Rove is not running the McCain show, but is inside enough to know so how can he not know? How about others in the party, do they not know too? Shouldn't they know before they work for her? Does John McCain know?
Karl Rove: Palin readiness unknown - Diane Francis

This entire thing McCain is doing could be to delay the VP debate to cram more information into Palin. She is going through the debate prep now and maybe they did not like what they saw. After all this is a campaign that will not even let her talk to reporters much less over 30 million people watching the debate. That a lot of people listening to her talk about "blinking" and that "bridge to nowhere".

Thanks but no Thanks.
