He lied to everyone when he promised the working folks of Ohio that he would fight for their anxieties about NAFTA. He lied about his service as a "good" senator when in fact he is one of the absolute worst in the state's history.

Either being friends with the other does nothing for the them politically, and if Obama said "Tom Coburn is my friend" it would be a thing that would hurt both with their base.

edit- also, it seemed like there was a ton of editing/cutting in that interview. You can tell several times that there is more about to come out of her mouth but they cut it very quickly to the next question.

Obama was handed ONE question and he spent fifteen minutes fumbling for a dodge until he got cornered into a lie. Palin answered Gibson's question about the her stance on the Bush Doctrine with the answer that I doubt McCain __OR__ Obama would've given in the same instance: That the President should never take any strategic option off the table.
