| Wow. There was a pleasant interview going on between Colmes and the other dude, then Hannity snapped. From what I've seen tonight, Sean Hannity and Chuck Norris must be drinking the same kool-aid. |

The Economy? Education? Iraq? What POSSIBLE ISSUE do you think Obama could feasibly walk away from without being mutilated with his own ideological positions? We're you planning on voting on Chuck Norris or something?

| Here's a real question. If Sarah Palin had been in the national news, would this be an issue? I don't think it is her lack of experience, I think it is her Q rating that is driving people batshit. How many other first term governors have ran for president? She's not even running at the top of the ticket, but as VP. I don't even like the selection but if Obama can start running for the white house two years into his senate term what the fuck makes her so much less qualified if she's spent two years being a governor, especially when she's running for a lower office? Part of her charm is the fact that she HASN'T been running for president for the last decade.

One of the disappointments about Palin is that she's not terribly fiscally conservative. That's fine. But the ultra-conservative bullshit stuff has been debunked. The Annenberg project's Factcheck.org tracks down a lot of the smears made against the candidates and Palin has NEVER banned any books (she spoke had a dispute with a librarian who was fired, rehired and not ONE book has ever been banned). She never "forced" creationism in schools, in fact the only time she had ever mentioned was in a debate and palin supported a libertarian position. Palin's the daughter of public school teachers, one of whom was a science teacher, who laughed when asked if his daughter ever pushed creationism.

Palin has most certainly cut the state's budget by over 10%. But her record as a "fiscal conservative" is often flimsy. But she has also sustained some dubious things like almost tripling funding for certain underused education programs, some kind of teen planned parenthood thing and she even decided to sustain a failing state-owned dairy collective. She signed a fucking WINDFALL TAX on oil company profits, a major objection for fiscal conservatives, and used the profits to issue "Energy Debit Cards" for Alaskans so they can help pay for heating costs.

I know, caring about education is a liberal thing... but isn't it refreshing to have a candidate who cites earthly studies for his plan, instead of getting it straight from god?
