| LOL you're dropping yet another myDD/dKos line of attack that's been exposed for the specious stupidity that is REPEATEDLY. We lost 1800 aircraft in Vietnam, chief. Do you have ANY record of an official reprimand for McCain's flying career? Do you have ANY record of a single reprimand on his performance as a combat pilot, or as a strategist in the US War College devising naval tactics that remain in use today, or as an flight leader and instructor in Florida? McCain flew a full career as a combat pilot and served with EXEMPLARY commendation. He was further commended for working his ass off to get back into flight status after his injuries during 5 years of vietnamese torture. Do you have ANYTHING other than that thoughtless willingness to regurgitate every uninformed hackjob you pick up in dailyKos? |

Robert Timberg, author of The Nightingale's Song, a book about Annapolis graduates and their tours in Vietnam, wrote that McCain "learned to fly at Pensacola, though his performance was below par, at best good enough to get by. He liked flying, but didn't love it." McCain III lost jet number one in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings. He was knocked unconscious by the impact coming to as the plane settled to the bottom. McCain's second crash occurred while he was deployed in the Mediterranean. "Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula," Timberg wrote, "he took out some power lines [reminiscent of the 1998 incident in which a Marine Corps jet sliced through the cables of a gondola at an Italian ski resort, killing 20] which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral." McCain's third crash three occurred when he was returning from flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game. Timberg reported that McCain radioed, "I've got a flameout" and went through standard relight procedures three times before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain landed on a deserted beach moments before the plane slammed into a clump of trees. McCain's fourth aircraft loss occurred July 29, 1967, soon after he was assigned to the USS Forrestal as an A-4 Skyhawk pilot. While seated in the cockpit of his aircraft waiting his turn for takeoff, an accidently fired rocket slammed into McCain's plane. He escaped from the burning aircraft, but the explosions that followed killed 134 sailors, destroyed at least 20 aircraft, and threatened to sink the ship. McCain's fifth loss happened during his 23rd mission over North Vietnam on Oct. 26, 1967, when McCain's A-4 Skyhawk was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. McCain ejected from the plane breaking both arms and a leg in the process and subsequently parachuted into Truc Bach Lake near Hanoi.

| And where are the consequences of those five crashes, which you STILL insist is somehow more remarkable than the 0.4 losses per 1000 service-wide sorties average that the US suffered during Vietnam? Did McCain get anything other than his medals for them? Did he get impeded from going to another carrier and flying another skyhawk after Forrestal? Did he get reprimands on his record or get any obstructions against his posting to the US War College (the center of American strategic development?) You cite those five aircraft losses throughout the guy's career as if it was more meaningful than the fact that McCain barely got reprimanded for any of them (he went drinking after the training crash), but in fact he was REWARDED for his courage during the Forrestal fire and his determination and steel under captivity. In other words, you try to brandish those aircraft losses as if they were meaningful because you're a fucking retard. AHAHAHAHA I see, you really ARE barfing that fucking DailyKOS reverse-swiftboating shit that even the very worst trolls over there have given up on!!! You fucking moron. There's no comparison, McCain's service actually saw COMBAT and served with distinction even during the Forrestal fire. The five aircraft losses was about half the average aircraft losses for the wild weasel pilots and just slightly over average for Vietnam's 0.4 losses per 1000 sortie figure. I shouldn't have gone into the 5 plane crashing crap... Although it is questionable for 1 person to be involved in such a thing it was pointless.

| OH flippin sweet. This dude failed a polygraph and has a rap sheet almost as bad and as long as Obama's (but not quite) but it looks like the story is gaining legs after all! I love how his lawyer starts out with a disclaimer about the National Press Club not endorsing his position haha. Unfortunately either Sinclair had an intimate grasp of the gays in Wright's church or he really WAS Obama's gay lover! Last edited by Khorum; 09-08-2008 at 08:22 PM.. |

| Larry Sinclair from elizabeth glover on Vimeo Hmm... that work? Yeah the queer's an avowed junkie and grifter and he failed a polygraph about the matter after being offered 100k to pass it haha. But his story checks out with the circumstances of that Donald Young guy (gay choir dude for Jeremiah Wright) who died under mysterious circumstances. Sinclair claims Obama had a relationship with Young too and Sinclair requested police protection. The story is fucking hilarious and got no farther than the tabloids. That press conference was from from back from June. But now there's word that the Secret Service has put him into "custody" and won't explain why. There's not enough evidence to support the guy's claims aside from his times and phone numbers with the murdered Donald Young checking out. Dr. Jerome Corsi refused to include this story in his bestseller The Obama Nation and cited that lack of evidence for his reason. That arrest is resurrecting the story and raising more questions apparently. Last edited by Khorum; 09-08-2008 at 08:32 PM.. |
