Obama wanting to cut spending on a missile defense system that has a less than 1% chance of being tested in an actual scenario doesn't bother me. Besides, everyone knows that if anyone invaded the US that the invading nation wouldn't make it out of East LA.

This isn't 1939 with some madman at the helm trying to land grab because it's his God-given right. This is 2008. Hell, even the US invaded Iraq with the ultimate intention of giving the nation back to its people. I think it's safe to say that if China or the Ruskies decided they didn't want us around anymore, that a sci-fi level missile defense system wouldn't even begin to cover the sheer amount of firepower leveled at us. I'd rather win our wars at the negotiating table and making sure the overall world economy is strong. At this point, if one of us goes down, we all go down.

Because of this irrationality with Palin I finally understand why the Republicans thought we were so crazy supporting Obama. The difference now is that Palin has given 1 speech that was written for her by the McCain handlers. Obama is like a tested, proven, elder statesman in comparison now.

Also, the fact that the McCain campaign is purposely keeping her out of the media strikes me as very suspicious.

They are keeping her out of the media to:

1. Prepping her with canned questions that Sean Hannity will ask her or maybe it'll be O'Reilly or whomever the Repubs think will up her stock the most and won't deviate from the canned questions.

2. When she appears on Sean Hannity's show she'll look like the smartest person in the world because she'll answer the canned questions perfectly and the repubs will run with it.
