Well they view it as a murder of an unborn child that 99% of the time in anywhere from 3-6 months or so will be born. Even premature by several months they can still survive.

The gay stance, I don't agree with. Its probably not healthy for a society to have a large % of gays simply due sustainability concerns. That said if you want to suck dicks in your house you should be able to. Its not my business and shouldn't be anyone else's.

We are the most secure nation on the planet from a conventional military assault, and no matter how many trillions the GOP dumps into missile defense there is no stopping Russia from unleashing their complete salvo and destroying the country. That's why we need a negotiator, not a hot head like McCain who wants to rekindle the Cold War over Georgia.

Oh god, do you really think the best choice for humanity is to weaponize space? We already do have weaponized satellites, and so does China. We do not need another arms race.

Do you really think that anywhere near enough people are genetically predisposed towards homosexuality to have an effect on our population? It's not as if we haven't had homosexuals for the entirety of our history, it's just that it is becoming increasingly acceptable for them to be public. Under the population argument we should disallow men from being too nice so women don't label them as 'pussies' and thus unattractive mates.

And most Democrats are opposed to abortion, but don't recognize the power of the state over the autonomy of the individual on this issue. You also have to realize that abortion rates are approximately static regardless of legality, thus I feel apt to quote Bill Clinton. Abortion should be "Legal, safe, and rare." I support first term abortions completely, because there is no way that the child can survive outside the woman and it gives the couple ample time to decide to abort or not. Third trimesters abortions are wrong, though.

I'm not sure about other polls, but atleast with gallup they derive their poll numbers over a three day process. So the polls will not completely reflect how well Palin's speech did until Sunday. The polls on Monday will really tell us how close the race is since they will reflect how well McCain's speech was received.

the republicans claim to 'liberate people from tyrants (where we have economic interests only)' and yet they want to control the content of our own childrens education when it comes to science (creationism, sex ed), literature (banning books), and other subjects wherein children are taught AN AGENDA instead of how to make intelligent choices on their own.

you know 80% of my fucking problem with the republican party is hypocrisy. 15% is the desire to sit in moral judgment of another, 3% is lack of knowledge about the constitution and 2% just a MEASLY FUCKING 2% is poor decision making.

Hi, let me introduce you to the term Arms Race. Hint: it's a lose/lose situation. The worst possible outcome in game theory. Every participant ends up wasting hundreds of billions to not fall behind the other guys and it doesn't stop until all parties agree to no longer advance their arsenal. (some will go bankrupt in the process, like Russia. But now there are more participants and more money to go around. I wouldn't bet on the US being in a good shape after a prolonged economic battle.)

Guess why Russia is getting nervous? If the US has a system that can neutralize their nukes, there goes the balance of power. Then you have US bases near the border. All it takes from there is a small "incident" and we're really fucked. For comparison, just see how you'd think if it were China or Russia setting up bases in Mexico at the US border - and getting ready to start a missile defense shield. Yeah, you'd be screaming for more defense funding.

Better weapons and defense doesn't automatically make you more secure. It can have the opposite effect.

Do you think if it wasn't for our technology, the cold War would have taken a different turn? Russia had more men, more missiles, more airplanes, bullets, etc. BUT we had them in technology.
