The current economic downturn is due to the increase in energy costs(a direct result of the rise of China and India) and the fucking retarded housing crisis. Incremental government involvement is a realistic solution to the slowdown, and a careful caretaking role is already being fulfilled by Ben Bernanke. The economy moves up and down, and the correct response to every downturn is not massive new entitlement programs.

You also do not raise motherfucking investment taxes, corporate taxes, and make the American working environment even less appealing to new business interests than it currently is in the middle of a potential recession.

The ONLY thing I agree with Obama on is the creation of new jobs in the emerging energy sector, but most of that is ongoing through private companies like SunPower already.

Palin switched colleges 6 times in 6 years - Salon.com

Quote:
According to a biography — "Sarah" by Kaylene Johnson — Palin and three friends went to the University of Hawaii at Hilo after graduation from high school in Alaska in 1982. But they left after a few weeks because of the constant rain there, the book said.

The registrar at Hawaii-Hilo has no record that she ever enrolled, school officials said Thursday.

Palin, then known as Sarah Louise Heath, and a friend then traveled to Honolulu and enrolled at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said. ...
Decisive!

But...but...Obama will not acknowledge the Surge and he had columns on the stage at his speech. Oh yea, McCain is a POW.

Vote Republican!

This is a good read, and spells out what's wrong with attacking Palin and the general Democrat strategy.

LOL you think you're joking but they exist. They're called NEOCONS because they joined the party when George Wallace dragged them over. They're conservative but they cling to the keynesian ideas from their democratic days.

The PALEO-CONSERVATIVES are the Goldwater folks.

Nah he was still Barry Soetoro, still muslim, still handing out flyers for Bill Ayers' terrorist organization, and still bumming Rezko for a gig in his lawyer's firm.

Cutting Taxes for the first time *EVER* during a time of war? Check

The largest budget deficits in the history of the world all while completely ignoring the national Debt? Check

Ben Bernanke's huge interest rates cuts even when the consumer pricing index is hitting decade long high's? Check

The deregulation of the home lending market and tearing down the wall between investment banking and wall-street which were put in place because of the Great Depression? Check

McCain supported all of this (except the tax cuts, which he's now flip-flopped on). He's complicit in this disaster. That's why your boy won't talk about it.

Seriously, if the best people can come up with is an 18 year old far from home couldn't settle on a school then clearly someone is scared. Just like the teleprompter talk... was the speech so unnerving that you have to attack her rehearsal of it instead of the speech itself?

There's a lot more valid and pertinent shit to debate.

Goldwater would be a libertarian today, no? I don't see how he'd be happy in the Republican party of today.

And of COURSE you backed all that up with whatever moveon.org action bulletin you paraphrased it from. All it really does in reinforce the already settled opinion that you have never had the first fucking clue what you're talking about.

Elect a democrat, and it's just going to be worse.
Pretty much. People make their choices and their sacrifices. The notion that everyone who makes such an income is entitled to pay for those who don't is so flawed.
