What's missing from the equation is that if someone took the time to go through 50,000 hours of cable news footage they could make the exact same video with Democrat spin doctors saying the opposite things at the same time. Interesting article on Rupert Murdock. Seems he is sort of rethinking his life work as he gets closer to death and realizes that he is going to Hell for creating FOX News.

Obama lit into Ailes. He said that he didn’t want to waste his time talking to Ailes if Fox was just going to continue to abuse him and his wife, that Fox had relentlessly portrayed him as suspicious, foreign, fearsome—just short of a terrorist.

I've always figured Murdoch wasn't proud of the message and methods of Fox News, but the man isn't going to let ethics get in the way of profit. He is far enough removed from the network to be able to wash his hands of it. It's just another asset after all. Companies have to make a profit. Do you hate money?

...and all that jazz. Still, I don't think he could have taken a different path and forged world peace. Someone else would have filled the demand if he hadn't, but I have to believe that anyone else would have been less successful.
