So now that the VILF is gone the real question: how does McCain do tomorrow? He hasn't given one great speech yet this season, but if he is capable of one now is the time to pull it out.

Edit: Snark is an attitude as much as anything, and you know Biden will give her an opening at some point.

If McCain wins it'll be because of Palin. And for the record, we probably just saw the first female president of the United States speaking. To Jedite: if you don't think Palin has star quality you are completely deluding yourself - you're like a guy on the far right denying that Obama is a great orator and has serious charisma.

How is "NO BIG GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS PLZ K THX!!" not an issue? How is Obama's experience not an issue? The first two days of the republican convention were no less off the issues than the first three of the democratic convention.

Edit: Mist dude do you know any middle class white people? I'm not 1/5th as redneck as most of them and I thought Rudy's elderly rage was hilarious. I guarantee you that went over with their target audience.

We are talking about the speech, and one of the important parts of any political speech is delivery.

But you don't come out and say Community Organizers are shit.... Because there are alot of Community Organizers out there and people they have helped who will be pissed off about it.

Unfortunately NONE of your predictions nor any of your interpretations have ever been correct. In fact, it's starting to look like one of the best ways to predict the future outcome of something is to find out what IRBitch's opinion on it is and then bet on the absolute opposite.

I was thinking the same thing, that she will become president in the future.

I liked how Guiliani acknowledged that Obama is a good speaker with charisma, but made the point that those qualities don't make a good president, and how he has no experience and all his "present" votes, etc.

Oh btw some advice to the McCain camp and Palin, if you don't want the media to dig dirt on your family don't parade it infront of a national audience. The husband ok fine sure be there.. But the entire freaking family? Its as if they want the media too keep digging dirt on them.

Oh and nice touch on finally getting a PhotoOp of the dad with the kid..

The only reason this is allowed to be a Republican issue is because the media in this country SUCKS. Every now and then they do some actual journalism by mistake, kind of like Campbell Brown on CNN the other day with Tucker Bounds, then get bitched at by the campaigns because they are too mean and hurt someone's feelings.

The Republican party constantly poses as the party for smaller government and never, ever backs that shit up. If anything they are the very opposite of that. That's like the Dems trying to claim the status of "anti-war party" when 80% of them voted FOR the Iraq war.

In the end though, this is not about some hillbilly from fucking...Alaska. It is about how completely ignorant the middle class of America is. I am honestly intrigued. We are a democracy after all - everyone votes - and that is that. It will be interesting.

Guiliani's speeching skills may not be top notch, but his content was great, and he really ripped some big holes (that we all already were aware of) in Obama. Party loyalties aside, I can't believe anyone could in good conscious vote for Obama.
