How the fuck is that blog post baiting? It basically outlined what she's done and who she is as far as politician. She plays into the base of the GOP which they already had since McCain has been suckling from the GOP teat, since he shook up his campaign and went full on Republican mouthpiece/playing to the far-right.

She adds nothing, other than the vain hope that having a vagina on the ticket will draw in some fence sitters. She hasn't dealt with foreign dignitaries, she mentioned before the VP nomination that she had no idea what McCain's Iraq plan was, she didn't know what a V.P does, she has a journalism degree and 1 and a half years of being in an "executive office" as her strong points(Mayor of a Podunk fucking town doesn't count, if 18 year olds can be mayors of towns larger than Wasila that shit is moot).

Fact is: Cafferty is right when it gets down to Joint tickets you have to look at the package deal. Do you want Biden or Palin as our leader in the event of something big? Do you want as stated "4 more years" of the same tired shit we've had for the past 8 or do you want some/any kind of change?

I see this as a blatant, obvious, and desperate attempt to steal some votes from the Hillary crowd. I doubt very much that it will work. Nobody even knows who this Palin is, including McCain. I think most of the people this pick is aimed at will find it somewhat insulting, actually. This may even become comical in a few days after the initial shock has died down. Many will view this as good ol' boy McCain attempting to trick them into voting for him. I do not think they will appreciate it. I think there is a decent chance that this pick will push a lot of Clinton supporters who were on the fence right back to Obama.

I think Palin was an odd choice, but he didn't have to much choice with Obama being a minority. Basically he had to choose someone that wasn't a white male to be able to pander to the minority vote.

Also she has more executive experience than both Obama and Biden put together, and considering shes running for an executive office, that makes sense in my books.

By your own standard, she's also has more executive experience than McCain. Of course, her executive experience is mostly irrelevant considering it comprises of a population smaller than all major US cities and she's hasn't even been governor for 2 years. She's a nobody and everyone knows it.

What she does have as positives is solid conservative credentials (she hunts and eats moose, lifetime NRA member, is a creationist and believes it should be taught in school, as pro-life as they come, etc.). In addition to this, she has that working class values and mannerisms that Ronald Reagan, Clinton, and George W. Bush used to good effect on soccer moms. Combined with the fact that she is female and has already coined the phrase "hockey moms", it's clear what she's trying to bring to the ticket.

But don't bring up the executive experience, she's as inexperienced as Barack Obama and given McCain's criticisms of Obama, it's hypocritical and it puts in question his judgment. Combined with this is the fact that McCain only met with Palin twice before today and the first meeting was brief. Obama worked with Biden closely for several years, he can honestly say he knows the man and has a rapport with him. It doesn't mean that McCain/Palin won't get along well but it's a bit like an arranged marriage, it's hit or miss.

The first Obama-Biden campaign event since the convention is starting atm - Bob Casey just used his line from the convention about Senator McCain being Bush's 'sidekick'.

This one could be newsworthy depending on what they choose to say about the McCain VP pick.

I think this was an extremely aggressive pick, with the opportunity to be either a big winner or a big loser depending on how she does the next few weeks. The only real times she's going to have major public scrutiny on her policy will be during the speech at the convention and during the VP debate. All she needs to do is step up big those two nights and not make any mistakes for the other 65 or so.

The debate against Biden now becomes very interesting. Because of Biden's long history in the Senate she doesn't have to "win" the debate to be declared the winner. She just needs to to duel him to a draw. Biden also has to be careful at how aggressive he goes after her that night because he could easily go overboard and come off patronizing.
