+1 Internets | Do some of you idiots actually think Palin was a good pick? It completely destroys the experience card against Obama, and is a huge sign that McCain doesn't actually put 'Country first'. Country first isn't putting a mayor of 9000 people a single step from the presidency of the United States. Country first isn't picking your running mate solely on the chance that they may bring in extremists who are upset over their candidate not winning the nomination. Palin has no foreign policy experience. Obama has 4 years in the Senate, and Joe Biden as direct counsel. Palin believes in creationism, and has such terrible judgement that she decided to have a child at the age of 43, dramatically increasing the childs chances of being mentally impaired. Guess how that worked out, and guess what 5 month old baby she is abandoning to wildly campaign for the white house? That's right. Plus she's going to be a fucking idiot under media scrutiny. Does anyone think she won't crack under pressure? This girl can handle herself fine in some decaying piece of shit wasteland, but in an area that can be qualified as 'civilization' she is going to be torn apart. Can you imagine this girl versus Biden? Holy hell. The only chance they have is if she decides to break down crying every 5 minutes. I want to thank John McCain for being so fucking stupid that he thinks this will do anything but blow up in his face.

| I think Palin is a great choice, I'm hearing Obama supporters bash her weakness which just happens to also be Obama's glaring weakness. It's brilliant. It's change! Better yet compare what she DID as a governnor compared to what Obama DID in the senate. Should be a good times, may work may not but definitely a smart move. |

| Exactly my thoughts digits. The 'experience' card is utterly gone... and it was the only card in McCain's hand. Not only that, for a man of Sen. McCain's age to pick an individual with her political background as next in line to the Presidency is... astonishing. The Vice Presidential debate(s) should be pure hilarity. |

| I never made the claim that they do, but feel free to take a look at things she has done for Alaska and compare. Also doesn't it say a lot to take a governor role, where you do have more responsbility and can enact changes, rather than groom yourself as a mostly absentee statesman in the senate? |

+69 Internets | Quit throwing around big college words. The point was that you can't just expect people born into poverty or who find themselves in the lower end of income to just come up with a solution with grit and determination. You sit and speak from a position of privilege. Clearly you've never been poverty level poor, and clearly you've never had to truly "pull yourself up by your bootstraps."

| I don't think she was a good pick, but I understand why it happened. A) He did what I thought was impossible and negated almost completely Obama's speech last night, which I thought was good but not the best he could do, maybe because I've heard his stump speech so much. B) He actually made his campaign relevant. Rather than simply being a referendum on Obama he actually gets himself back into the spotlight and brings attention to his convention next week. Some of that spark Obama had has been shifted to McCain. C) She shores things up with the base, and allows McCain to go fight Obama for the middle. She also opens up inroads to the Hillary voters who are butthurt. I actually think McCain has a better chance to win today than I did two weeks ago, but I do think he should have picked someone else. If she holds up in the debate against Biden I think this has a chance to work out.

| Except that McCain was absent more over the same period, but hey, who's keeping score. Sure, the criticisms of inexperience for Palin may be applied to Obama, but they were always on the Obama ticket. McCain forced them onto his. It's just idiotic. I'm booking my hotel room for the inauguration right now, because McCain just gave this thing to Obama.

| Does making policy decisions to increase jobs that allow mobility count as a potential solution? You can expect them to rise up through grit and determination. Because that's how it happens. edit- oh shit, do I fail at sarcasm |
