I am voting for who I think is the better candidate. I live in California, buddy, I don't have a single conservative friend. They don't really exist here. I also don't automatically vote Republican, but Obama made it a real easy choice this time around.

I'm rooting for a team that fights for my bottom line. I don't believe the federal government should be able to run systems like welfare and social security (the 10th Amendment would agree with me here). I also don't believe that those systems work or have ever worked. Let me say that I "look around and get a different perspective" every day. Living in California and working in technology I have almost nothing but interaction with liberals. I understand their viewpoints, I just disagree.

I'm still unsure though, sure the GOP is taking a negative initial hit with Palin, but like most tabloid type stuff, (unless there continues to be new shit) it will blow over somewhat and they just bought themselves a TON of viewership from people that previously were totally not interested.

Who knows, a country where Dan Quayle can get elected as VP? Anything is possible.

The big mistake, I think, mostly has to do with their respective ages, I just can't get it out of my head that this woman would have a pretty good chance of becoming the de-facto president in the next 4 years if elected VP.

I don't watch that show. I actually got the 28% number from Obama when he said he wouldn't raise capital gains above what it was during the Clinton administration. If he changed his number to 20%, then I stand corrected.

Just so you are not unpleasantly surprised, McCain sits and talks with reporters every single day while traveling, giving them unprecedented access. McCain is old, but he stays sharp by constantly sparring with the media. Obama has given the Republicans troves of sound bytes to use against him because it has been said he has problems talking off the cuff.

I think McCain is going to do much better in the debates than Obama because he has decades of political experience to pull from. Whether that is enough for him to win remains to be seen.

The vice presidential debates will look like a Max Hardcore feature though. Biden is going to wipe the floor with Palin and it is going to be hard to watch.
