I agree, there can be no possible bad consequences ever of killing foreigners on their land. Once you kill enough of someones family, the survivors and all their children and grandchildren tend to love you like in the movie Harry Potter.

Its also pretty obvious to anyone how killing a bunch of people in Iraq will prevent another bunch of people from Saudi Arabia/Pakistan or other countries from executing another large-scale terrorist style attack. Its so obvious no one really needs to explain it.

You can't launch a full scale invasion of a foreign country when the enemy has only taken potshots in the global scale. Without the magnitude of 9/11 (all most 100x the damage and 10x the cost of lives then any other international terrorist attack we've ever suffered to my knowledge) we couldn't just invade and start nation building.

Besides Bush completely failed at surrounding and capturing Osama when he had the chance. He managed to get hundreds of thousands in iraq but couldn't manage more then a few thousand for Osama.
