So what would you do about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? If they fail, the US economy fails. If you own a house it will have zero worth shortly after the failure. Should we bail them out or let their "lazy asses" go under? Grandpa McCain say we should not bail them out.

Before you answer review this little gem from the FOX News print edition known as the Wall Street Journal who say we need to do the bailout. Maybe the problems are just all in their heads as McCain's economic Advisor believes.

If Fannie and Freddie go under it is "Game Over" slick.

Then i fucking guess that it needs to be game over then. People need to learn from their mistakes. We the people are the base guilty party in this. We as a country let this happen since we are the basic denominator. The home buyers are just as guilty as the companies for signing shitty loans in the first place. Shame on us all around.

This is so wrong on so many levels. It assumes that someone with a handicap or who is impaired can't support him or herself. I was born with a hearing loss and I make six figures a year and have for more than a decade. (The handicap has largely been eliminated with modern technology but only recently.) I know some very successful people who were born with handicaps.

This is the first time I've shared this on a public board but this is the first time I've come across such a blatantly misinformed post. It's also an attitude that too many people have.

You said "any" fetus in which a severe physical or mental "impairment" can be detected. Any degree of deafness is considered an impairment or handicap.

True you said "severe," but who would decide when the fetus is severely impaired versus moderately impaired? And what about technology that might become available after birth to correct the impairment? I had a moderate hearing loss at birth that deteriorated to a severe loss in adulthood. I had surgery that was not available until recently and I've gone from severely to mildly impaired.

This isn't directed only at you. I hear this kind of thinking often (my sister once said she thinks all gangbangers should be rounded up and executed) and it gets to me because these issues are a lot more complex than many people realize. And someone else is right; this discussion, although interesting, belongs elsewhere.

As far as Obama/McCain goes, I think McCain should just go into a cave for the next 4 months. At this point, he isn't doing anything to help himself. Just let the rumors and innuendo fly as they may, show up and cast a vote for himself, and see what happens.

I can't recall anything he's done since the General started that has actually helped him.
