It will be hard to turn a positive into a negative this time. He had pointed criticism of McCain and some specifics including the creation of 5 green million jobs that will help us stop our dependence on oil. The difference here is that Obama is a high level visionary. McCain is a good soldier but not smart enough to be President. Time to put someone smart back into the White House. We have tried having someone we want to drink beer with in the White House. Time for a major change.

I love the way Obama gives credit to McCain for his service and then rips him a new one.

I agreed with Obama in principle on that line, but I still rolled my eyes at it. I dont think this country has a big AK-47 problem, he could have said handguns which, while not as dramatic, is far more relevant to the people in the major cities of this country, especially the one he is from.

He was saying there is a middle ground on gun control. That Dems and repubs can agree hunting is ok but AK's in cities are not.

I watch FOX all the time. It is good to know how the enemy thinks. Judging from that speech it appears that Obama's team watches it also. The FOX commentators will have a very hard time lying to bash this event.

Exactly. That whole section of his speech was about finding a reasonable middle ground on our differing issues, and not advocating the positions of fanatics on either side. The people screaming OMG AK's R ILLEGAL ALREDY need to shut the fuck up and pay more attention.

It almost felt like he was trying to persuade me into a McCain vote with all of his 'government stays out of your business' talk. But, hopefully McCain will not cause a hurricane in Louisiana or an investment bubble to burst. Although I think only Bush is able to cast Hurricane Rape IV.
