His ability to stay relevant over his decades as a comedian was what made him hilarious and worth listening to and laughing with, and he will be missed.

Oddly enough, today's Chicago Tribune editorial Cartoon was a play off of "7 things you can't say on TV".

I assume it is one of those odd coincidences, since as far as I know the news came out after post time.
