| The only good thing about facebook is to keep in touch with classmates and send messages to people. I know a few of my TA's posted threads and such for us to read since they didn't have access to Carmen. But, the fact that profiles from facebook can never actually be "deleted" (you have to send an e-mail to the higher ups), that's one reason to never post private information or pictures of yourself. edit: They can't do anything about it, can they?

I have both but rarely ever log onto Facebook just for that fact that I'm sick of "you have 100 new notifications(ie: all gay apps)". Least Myspace has music and I loves me some music. | |

+29 Internets | I fully agree, but don't find the apps to be that bad. I just declined them when my friends added me, and for the most part I don't get a bazillion invites to install some stupid fucking waste of time. Overall I find it very handy for staying in touch with friends or finding someone you only briefly met, organizing parties/trips, sharing pictures of said parties and/or trips, and that kind of thing. People who dislike it because of the voyeurism or attention whoring are I think totally missing the point. You don't have to do any of that shit if you don't want to. They've done a pretty damn good job of providing privacy options to disable features you don't want, and with the recent addition of multiple friend lists it's much easier to limit certain people to only very limited profiles and information about yourself. Of course, some people are fucking morons and don't realize that anything that's posted on Facebook essentially becomes public information. I look forward to my generation entering politics and other positions of power and scrutiny. I can hardly wait to see pictures of them snorting coke or getting a lap dance show up on the front page news. That said, the link above is really interesting. Sounds to me like Zuckerberg is a total dick if half of that has any truth to it. But you know what they say about nice guys. |

+29 Internets | Their point was that depending on how many stupid airhead bitches you know, you may get bombarded by about 50 application invites a day. Thankfully I don't know that many, and the ones I do are on notice not to hit me with that shit. |

| I regret every day making a profile on facebook with more than my name and a wall for people I have long forgotten about to write stupid crap. You can't delete stuff from that site: It's stored for an indefinite amount of time. (yes I know this doesn't have much to do with the OP)

| ok... so how do i find the obscure bands, and listen to samples of their music so I know to download them on torrents?? myspace is awesome for up and coming bands. My little brother (just finished junior year of HS) has a band, theyve been screwing around for a few monthes and they have a myspace with a song on it. I doubt anything will ever become of it, but its still powerful. Not to mention major acts that use their myspace page in place of a real website. Girl Talk for instance, blogs, tour dates/locations, new mixes all on his myspace page. |
