Is the UltraSharp 2408WFP still pretty top for 24" screens? Was also looking at a couple of the NECs. Someone had a link a while back to a messageboard that kept a running list of LCD technologies and reviews / issues of new panels. It had a list of top 10 for business, gaming, and publishing. Can't find it anymore though.

Hopefully someone can help me with the problem I have... My motherboard died a couple of weeks ago. Everything was running fine, but it had problems powering up. My AoC would run at 40fps and I would never lag on TF2. I RMAed my motherboard and got a different motherboard, but the same brand/type/etc. Now I just plugged back in as a replace to the old one. I have problems running games now... I tried running AoC and it told me I didn't have the best drivers... I tried playing AoC and TF2 and I was getting horrible FPS... in AoC it wen't down to 8fps, which is what I get on my laptop! On TF2 I get massive lag when there is more than 3 people around me. I tried installing the latest drivers, but when I tried playing I got blue screens of death! I reverted back to old drivers and re-installed the latest again... this time it seemed to work.... But my FPS are still crap. What can I do to fix this?

Hey Im a long time forum reader, and I am interested in either building or buying a premade new gaming desktop, and I figured this would be the place to come to. Im currently using an older laptop to play AoC, and its becoming to much to handle. I have been out of the loop for too long. I've put together 2 computers before, but im afraid of choosing parts that just dont go together or that suck if i do it myself now. So Im looking to spend a little over $1000. I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speaker system so i dont need that included. If anyone could list me the parts that would be good for such a machine, that would be great. I would want the computer to be able to run the new 280 GTX card without bottlenecks, even though that might not be the card i get now (unless that could be squeezed into this price range of a comp). Hard drive space, Pretty case, are not priorities. I'm looking for the most FPS for the buck. If anyone will help, Thanks much. Last edited by irronn : 06-23-2008 at 07:11 PM.

Meh... now my DVD room reads CDs, but not DVDs.... Any suggestions for fixing this? I tried uninstalling it from the Device Manager and restarting comp (for some reason that doesn't do anything) I also tried flashing the latest drivers
