Just run and jump off the Empire State building. That is equivalent to riding a motorcycle. Last edited by I'm Rich Bitch; 06-08-2009 at 07:02 AM..

What about just walking and jumping off the Empire State building? Is that like driving a car?

| A little bit different from most other people here, but I just threw down on a 95 R1100R. Navigating this big ol bitch is _hell_ of a lot different than what I am used to. There has been a whole lot of parking lot practice going on in the last week. |

+13 Internets | Nice, very nice. You'll have tons of fun, AND you'll still be able to walk straight after getting off the thing ![]()

+66 Internets | Alright, some advice is requested. I am going on my first long bike trip this weekend. Last year I went to Jasper and back in a couple days (got drunk overnight and came home the next day), which is about 400km each way. This one's a big longer, at around 600km give or take. I'm going with a large group of about 15 other people on various types of motorcycles. Any suggestions to make my life more liveable riding a crotch rocket for 600km? Obviously we'll be stopping every 200km or so for fuel and a stretch, but any other advice on what to do, not to do? The forecast is decent, 20-25C mostly sunny, but that can change. I'll most likely wear jeans, with some Icon textile pants over top, and then a t-shirt with my Icon textile mesh jacket overtop (liner most likely in). I'll have a warmer sweater in my backpack or saddlebags, as well as rain gear. Any "must have" things that I should bring? Map of ride on the way down: Edmonton, AB, Canada to Fernie, BC, Canada - Google Maps On the way back, we'll be riding up 93, one of the most scenic roads in the world. Looking forward to that, if I can still walk: Icefields Parkway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Kind of amusing, this one weekend will add almost 1/3 to the mileage on my bike. +12 Internets | I did just over 500mi on my old Gixxer on the stock seat which was my longest road trip with it. A buddy of mine had some of those wooden seat beads on his CBR, and of course I ragged him pretty hard when he showed up with them on. These: Cycle Posers - How to make your bike seat more comfortable for under $20 Halfway in, I bought a set at some shitty country store, cut them to size and zip-tied them to my seat. What a freakin' difference. Yes, they look horrible, but if you're going to be ass in the saddle for an extended period of time, it's worth the occasional ridicule, as it's a night and day difference. Decent (though cruiser-related) article here on some other provisions to bring: Packing Up for a Long Motorcycle Trip And a camel-bak is always nice as well. Above all, be safe and have a blast man.

+3 Internets | Bring as many tools as you can fit in your bag/on the bike. Ratchet with the size of sockets for things you can fix on the side of the road if need be. Simple temporary fix its like zip ties and maybe some gasket sealer just in case. Other than that, you really cant carry much on a sport bike. Id try to take as many breaks as possible. I used to hate riding for hours and my ass/arms were numb.

+12 Internets | Just ordered this, Kriega US-10 tail bag. Gets great reviews everywhere, and since my tank is half aluminum/half composite, I can't put a fullsize magnetic bag on there. ![]() Looks to be a nice alternative/addition to us sportbike guys who have "limited" storage space options.

It's actually overkill for just a weekend trip really, but it seems pretty awesome so far. I'll be curious to see how it handles at 70mph+ though. Shouldn't be too bad, since it pretty much sits directly behind me and isn't really any wider, it should be mostly in my slipstream.
