Which Macbook?

So my girlfriend is getting a good bit of money for university graduation soon. She wants to buy a new computer and wants a Mac laptop. The only gaming she does is WoW; she wants to be able to play at the highest settings and have it run well raiding. Aside from that, she does basic internet/skype kind of shit; no professional applications.

Which Macbook should she get?

If you want to play WoW at max settings, your only choice is a Macbook Pro. The lower-end Macbook barely plays WoW at lowest settings.

Make sure you get a 7200rpm hard drive.

5400rpm isn't too had. I upgraded to a 320gb 5400rpm drive recently. Due to the density of the disk, my speeds are very good.

I installed it myself. It's actually fairly easy to do.

Even the lowest end of the 3 Macbook Pros will run WoW well.
Make sure you choose the Education store when you shop to get the student discount. It'll knock a couple hundred off.

Voids warranty though unless I get a apply certified tech to do the job

Yeah, if EEE PC can run WoW, it would make me sad in the pants a MacBook can't run WoW

Any of the macbook pros will run WoW smoothly. You probably know this already- don't buy the apple's RAM, just go to newegg or whatever.

My girlfriend has a regular macbook and it *can* run WoW, but only at low settings. Like any low end computer though, Shattrath is v-lag hell.

Seriously, why a Mac? Just to be trendy? There's like zero benefit unless you're either an extreme novice or need it for a specific application.

QFT. OSX can be more stable, but I still find users are able to find novel ways of breaking shit and complaining about inane stupid shit. Like the guy today complaining that his MBP had barely audible fan noise. And sometimes made a barely audible click. He then explained that I wouldn't be able to hear it in the current environment. Fucking joy.

Suggestion:

Buy Dell XPS or Gateway laptop with 4GB memory (therefore 64bit Home Premium) and an 8600+ graphics card. Restore out of box with OS disc provided. You will need to create the Apps/Drivers disc for the Gateway before you restore. Install only needed drivers software. Slap Kaspersky IS with the firewall disabled (seriously, fuck software firewalls).

Shazam. Screaming fast computer with no bloatware. Vista is stable as shit if you know what you're doing. Not having preinstalled bloatware is a big help in that department. The reason I suggest Dell XPS or Gateway is that other manufacturer recovery discs are all-in-one type discs. Install vista+bloatware over 2-3 discs. Annoying.

Lowest end MBP would also work just fine.

Please don't start another Windows/Mac argument.

For the Macbook Pro:

On the Apple store site, when I configure the computer, would I want to choose the 4gb RAM option or the 2gb? If I get the 2gb and save some money, will it still have the slots to install my own, Newegg-bought ram? And I should replace all the Apple RAM with better, right?

Also, for displays: 17-inch: What's the real difference between Glossy widescreen display and the Hi-res LED display? Worth the extra $100 for the LED high res?
