China Earthquake pictures

I had a few people ask me about the quake etc and well I decided to gather pictures from my wife. She did take some after shots. Here are some Before and After pictures. Was going to go into Screenshots but heh, you can read that thread and see why I chose here.

Some pictures taken by my wife and I before and her and her friends after. Some were submitted to their QQ/Sohu website (Kinda like CNN Ireport stuff)

Before and After pictures of Dujiangyang, Beishauan and Weishuan (3 main cities and their villages).
I have stayed at these cities alot.

1. wenchuan town - Epiccenter of the earthquake.
2. Satellite showing the mountian of Weishuan collapsing.
3. Another picture showing the geological change.
4. Weishuan before and after. Totally crushed.
5.组图:四川灾区地震前后照片对比 First picture 2006 and than after quake exact spot. This is a village near Beishaun.

75 people die in a hurricane in the USA, they call on the President to resign for something he isn't even indirectly responsible for.

20,000+ die in an earthquake in China, how many protesters you think they'll be?

Not to derail this thread, but I hope 50,000 chinamen die next time, for the lack of growing a pair of balls to change their government. In the USA we can create an ever expanding bureaucracy to blame, but at least that idiot bureaucracy created earthquake standards in their cities.

wait what? Bush can't be held responsible for a hurricane but the Chinese government is supposed to stop earthquakes?

You really are a moron. The outcry was not because of the hurricane, it was because of the response (or lack thereof) to the hurricane.

I don't even know where to begin. Oh wait; probably because you don't know a damn thing about the chinese nor how heavily nationalistic they are.

I feel insulted for a few reasons. China has busted their ass trying to catch the US in military power. They spend tons of cash on this and all the manufacturing shit which causes parts of their country to be massively polluted. Meanwhile many areas of china are extremely poor and doing without bare necessities such as clean water. They skip doing things such as making sure areas will reasonably withstand earthquakes. The USA is no better in some areas. On top of that we buy all kinds of shit from china. They own our debt. A lot of americans are having a hard time these past several years. In spite of all this, they want us to give them money. We're giving them plenty every time we step into walmart.

anyways, not saying no one should help them if they are able. it just irks me a bit that some have gone out of their way to beg for american citizens to give money. the majority of which can't really afford to. the same people who already give china a lot of money because of spending habits.

Since when has China asked for American help, as of recently?

Even with the earthquake, China has yet to ask for any assistance.

Just for clarification, China has no or little involvement in the so called 'beggar' ads that you mentioned.

i'm not blaming the chinese government for that. i'm insulted by the people doing the ads. it's just a gut reaction. their audience are made up mostly of people who send a lot of money to china already. people who don't have tons of extra cash.

i've seen a few. the one i saw right before making that post was by yao ming. i don't know his personal finances, but he can't be poor. if he's gonna ask millions of cash strapped americans for money, then i expect him to give everything he can to the cause as well. somehow i feel he will still have access to quite a bit of money and other personal comforts after the mess from this quake is cleared.

i would blame the government for the poor conditions, however.

They had some of the same for Burma. And when the Tsunami hit, recently?

There are always commercials and ads asking to help out the poor. Regardless of its a natural disaster or not. Helping out the poor, the sick, the hungry; in many different countries.
