+3 Internets | That is fucking amazing! This isnt a joke is it? He actually built that and it works? I would pay tons of cash to be able to use that for an hour or however long it has fuel for. Edit: WOW! I just saw the video too and thats awesome! It just looks like something out of a Bond movie. He jumps, unfolds the wings, free falls a bit, starts to glide, then you can see the jets kick in. Amazing. Last edited by EmpireF4i; 05-16-2008 at 05:06 PM.. |

+75 Internets | I heard about something similar but it was some sort of body suit that allowed you to glide. Didn't have rockets or anything, it might have been posted here. Something like human squirrel? |

+54 Internets | He spent $250k on it... I imagine this includes a lot of development cost. You might be able to manufacture them for $150k a piece or so (especially if you make more than one or two), which is cheaper than many sport cars. Truly amazing though. |

| Not sure how practical it is as a "jetpack" since it requires launch from 8000ft in it's current model, but that is freaking awesome nonetheless. If he can up the thrust while keeping the weight reasonable so he can launch from the ground and cover ~40 miles, then we've got something. ![]() |
