Stress/Load Testing software help.

So my supervisor for the project i'm doing wants me to do some load testing for a web application another bunch of students built(with Oracle Portal).

What would be an easy to access(preferably free) idiot-proof software I could use to accomplish this?

PS. Move to tech forum if necessary but I thought i'd get more views here.

Download a trial version of loadrunner. With a few vu's running you should be able to project out system resource problems.

I think the trial version of loadrunner supports up to 15 users so realistically i would run tests using:
1, 2, 4, and 8 users. Each test should double resource utilization.

Based on this you should be able to see bottlenecks by projecting out 16, 32, 64 and so fourth. This will not catch everything but it can catch somethings.

On a more serious note, Loadrunner/Winrunner should do what you want. Visit your local nzb indexing site for details ...

Lulluen, also if you have any questions about Performance Testing feel free to ask. It's one of my primary responsibilities at my current job (Although, I no longer get to work with fun products like Loadrunner due it being that the product I work on now is a single user workstation instead of a SAAS deployed suite).

Review I just had changed my title to Performance Engineer which is <3. My resume looks much better with that title now instead of QA Engineer.
