| [Vista 32-bit] - Right-clicking/copy/move/delete crashes to desktop This started out of nowhere. I scanned for mllware or a virus, but everything turned out clean. Anyone familiar with this issue? I tried googling for the issue, but none of the methods there seem to work. Thanks! |

| This sounds like registry corruption for the class that contains the desktop menu. Try this - create a new account on the system, and login to it. If the problem is fixed, I'd say move everything over from the old account to the new account you just created (desktop settings, etc). If the problem still exists, then log back into your main account, delete the temp account you created, and go to the registry editor. Edit -> Find and look for every instance of ContextMenuHandlers and check the box to match whole string. Check the contents of all those strings to ensure there isn't anything out of the ordinary (i.e. a corrupted GUID). If something looks seriously corrupted/messed up, feel free to post it here and i'll see if they look normal or not. |
