Exactly, hence my original post. It's a completely ridiculous notion. And Soriak - They probably do have state-of-the-art AA installations. So did Iraq. They also have some really impressive cruise missiles. But, the entire country would be under a microscope and the first time any of those installations is used would also be the last time it is used. Of course, we're only talking about the ones that haven't been identified from satellite or other imagery/intelligence and destroyed in advance here.

Anyway, enough armchair general talk. My point was that their posturing is laughable in any realistic scenario.

Clearly what we need to do is invade another country and waste more money to overthrow a "violent and hostile dictator" than have no plan at all to set up a new government that is submissive to the American will and how to best use our new colonists as we wave around "democracy and freedom". Yes invading Iran is a genius idea, that way we can borrow more money from the Chinese as they use the debt we currently owe them to buy and compete in the oil market further driving up prices. Teehee... I'm so looking forward to the question on Columbian President Uribe. The guy managed to change the constitution to let him run for another term. The constitutional change passed through the legislature by one vote - funny thing... turns out a congresswoman accepted a bribe to vote in favor for the change.

If McCain is going there to lobby for the US-Colombian trade agreement, he may have to explain why he's negotiating with a dictator-in-the-making. Didn't he go after Obama exactly for proposing to do something like this?

I understand all of that, and I don't think it's a good plan, but if either Israel or USA (or both) decide to fly in there with F-22s, F-15s, B-2s, F-117As, AWACS, M1Ax, Apache Longbows, surveillance drones, etc there isn't going to be any sort of substantial death toll for the aggressors. Also, I was watching CNN last night, and some annoying, fat broad was interviewing some senator. It went something like this:

Dumb fat reporter bitch: "Senator, what can you tell us about these secret operations that are going on in Iran?"

Senator: "I have no comment on that."

Dumb fat reporter bitch: "But if there were secret operations going on in Iran, you would remember that, right?"
