TV's do emit high frequency sound which irritates young people, but I'm gonna go with reverse placebo effect for $500, Alex
That shit annoys the hell out of me. It doesn't seem to matter how many rock concerts I go to, I'm still able to hear high frequency sounds that no one else around me can hear. My project manager downstairs had a CRT monitor on his desk, and in the wall behind his desk is the building's main electrical panel. The interference from the panel would cause his monitor to emit an extremely loud screeching noise that I could clearly hear upstairs, but no one else in my office could hear.

Eventually I just bought him an LCD as I was losing my mind.

I have a two underhang lights beneath cabinets, and one of them is always dim. Except that whenever someone holds out their hand close to it, it suddenly brightens to normal lighting. Doesn't matter who it is or what mood they're in, humans naturally emit a weak EM field and it can affect bad unshielded wiring.

Various monitors and cheap speakers can emit high frequencies that affect some people, either by a continuous noise they hear or simply giving them headaches. This was the premise for Johnny Mnemonic.

When I get depressed I start absorbing other people's thoughts...and it makes me feel good like eating food and sometimes it gives me an erection. People also seem to become less intelligent around me and listen to what I have to say. JOKE LOL :/

Yeah, I'm still hearing the high pitch noise from electronics at 22. I notice it most with tube tv's and crt monitors.

The CRT thing I could definately relate too... People wondered how i could tell when the TV was on while it was muted and I wasn't nearby. I simply here a clear buzzy noise in the background whenever one is on, especially giant CRT's. Don't think I had too much of a problem with my smaller 19 inch monitor.

I have a friend of mine who has a much stronger EM signature. When she is near electronics she kills them. Her computers always have fuckloads of issues (hardware failures). She stopped wearing watches because the batteries always died. I built a new computer and she stopped by, it had the most horrendous crash, speakers going full tilt and just died horribly. But she moved away and it booted normally.

Thats possible what happens with you. Not mood though.

I was watching one of them paranormal type shows and they showed some guy who would turn off street lamps by walking under them. I don't recall any emotional component to it though.

However some of the new age mumbo jumbo talks about auras which can change color depending on your mood.

Just thought I'd share since this thead seemed to have a little bit of an x-files vibe to it. I don't necessarily believe in this stuff. Although I swear I had a dog that would always get up and leave the room when I got angry-- before I did anything like shout or hit something or do anything to indicate I was mad.

Really though, it's streetlights and the same type of fluorescent lighting hanging on the side of buildings. I swear, if I'm really depressed or something just walking through the park or sitting in a parking lot or even driving down a lighted street, I notice street lights constantly fading out or flickering back and forth until they shut out. The first couple of times it happened I chalked it up to coincidence (and at the right times, I still do - when it's completely obvious) but my question is - can a person's energy ('vibes') so to speak literally affect electricity currents around them? I have other friends verify this weird phenomenon around me, so I know I'm not hallucinating...but again, not trying to jump off the deep end here.
Just wondering if there is a scientific explanation behind this.

edit: and to throw in there, I know there is a such thing as people who are 'hypersensitive' to electricity or whatever, like whenever they're around TVs and whatnot...maybe this is something along the likes of that?

Boo, this thread doesn't deserve a Rickshaw. At least, not yet.

It's sort of interesting. Have there been any studies done to test this supposed phenomenon?

Their are reports of people more sensitive to electricity. They get electrocuted much easier than other, build up static faster, appliances don't work as well or work odd ( I knew a guy that if he was in the car with you radio stations came in like shit, but were fine if he wasn't in the car).

I have not, however, heard of the phenomenon being caused by your emotional state.
