Hawaii is losing it's mind

So yesterday, a group of Hawaiians claiming to be the legitimate government of Hawaii, went down to Iolani Palace (palace of old hawaiian royalty, now preserved for public tourism) and locked up all of the gates and denied access to the public, only allowing people with hawaiian blood onto the grounds and news media. Our police chief and state police rep went down to TALK with them and they got them to agree to unlock the gates. There were no arrests.

Honolulu Police says that the palace is state jurisdiction so they can't get involved. The group is back today and protesting again, this time without locking the gates. The state, in retaliation, TOLD THEIR EMPLOYEES TO GO HOME.

I don't know how the state expects this kind of circus shit to go on. If a bunch of islamics tried to pull this shit on state property they'd be hauled away by SWAT. If they don't arrest them they're setting a dangerous precedent.

As someone that lives in Las Vegas, these fucks could take a lesson from our books about not shitting on the tourists that give a serious boost to their economy.

Hawaii should secede. Too bad the USA will never ever let them, since the place is 50% military base.

I have never been "shit on" by any locals as a tourist in Hawaii though. Everyone's generally awesome.

I went for vacation when I was about 16, while "shit on" may have been too strong of a phrase, their is definitely a feeling of "outsider discontent". We were basically told by our travel agent that if we left the "touristy" areas to not expect a warm welcome, and I can understand that. I really don't care if people visit Vegas but if the fuckers started pouring into my local/neighborhood bar I wouldn't be too happy about it.

One thing that did strike me odd about Hawaii was their belief that all the mainlander's did was watch porn. Every fucking store I went into basically had a triple-x section in the back but when we went into the more remote/non-touristy places I didn't see that shit at all.
