Weird Flash Drive Failure

Hopefully someone can help me here, my flash drive has stopped working on my computer and locks up everything after I plug it in...but only on this computer. It works on my laptop and on other people's computers, but for some reason when I plug it in, the light turns on and then off almost immediately, then my computer locks up until I remove it. I even tried reformatting it, thinking there was some process that may be trying to run and cause problems (it is a Sandisk and they have that app that force-starts every time you plug in the drive). Has anyone experienced this problem before, or know what could be causing it?

I had a similar problem with a Sandisk Cruzer. It was probably around a year go, so I don't remember the exact details about how and when my comp would lock up. It stopped happening after I uninstalled the software built into the drive though.

how do you uninstall it? I reformatted the drive, but that virtual disk drive still shows up, which is where I believe the software auto-runs from...

There's a good chance that the software is completely different now, but on mine there was a Windows Start menu like interface for all the bundled programs, and one of the options was to uninstall everything. They might have hidden the uninstall option in the same menu as the option to buy more/upgrade the existing programs.
