Yeah I have to have a fan running in the room or something when I visit my sister. She lives way out in the middle of fucking nowhere, SC. Very eeeeery, at all times.

I grew up in a lot of rural places in West Texas, also lived in Dallas, Phoenix, San Fran, Norfolk, and DC now. I really never minded it, but now, there is no way I would do it. I'd rather be close to everything.

I also grew up on a farm in Kentucky. My county had the highest per capita use of meth in the country. Yeah...

Ive lived in small towns all my life. Currently live in Hood River, OR. Small town, the hicks live to the south of us in odell/parkdale. Love the country/mountains surrounding me. Hiking, camping, windsurfing, skiing, whatever you feel like besides surfing which is just a quick drive to the ocean(cold as fuck but doable) Wouldn't leave for anything but a work related opportunity.

I did go to college in Boston which for being rated a clean city is pretty fucking dirty. Portland is fairly clean, much more so than Boston but much smaller is the closet I come to cities these days and enjoy that fact after spending a few years in Boston. Cant imagine living there and not going insane.

I thought I moved to the country side when I moved from NYC to Dublin, OH. The existence of grass outside of central park and certain rare lawns in Queens was nonexistent in NY.

In fact the grass/trees/plants of all sorts were everywhere, then after leaving the city area and driving down some random roads I saw actual farms and was like WTF this place is like long island.

Then I realized that having your house 20 yards away from your neighbor wasn't necessarily rural. Considering you hicks that live many miles away from yours! In any case I was so pissed at my parents (near end of elementary school) for moving. Growing up in NY entailed far more freedom as you could go to so many places on foot. As an adult with a car however, this place has grown on me. Without a car here your so fucked which instantly means no real freedom for those under 15.
