Didn't some other global warming denier bring up this 30 year number a few pages ago? And then someone mentioned 800,000 years worth of ice core data, which was just as insufficient to said global warming denier?

Pretty simply really. Compelling evidence would be evidence that either I could observe, or observable, irrefutable, factual evidence from many years of observed data. Its lunacy, in my opinion, to look at data for the last 30 years, and use that data to form a scientific consensus over the actions of something that is over 6 billion years old.
You understand this basically makes it impossible for someone to convince you that climate change is very likely happening. You are saying you won't believe it until we directly measure the climate significantly change. No prediction, no matter how well founded it is, will ever be accepted by you if you expect this kind of direct observation. We are trying to prevent those observations from ever happening. Thats the whole fucking point.

One should never let facts and reason get in the way of their beliefs.

k.

Anyway, I never said it did, did I? Don't put words in my mouth. I was simply saying that you imply two sources can reinforce your thoughts about the future of society, and at the same time say two sources isn't enough to matter. I just found that funny.
sigh

Even the Bush Administration finally admitted to accepting global warming:

ABC News: WH Admits the World Is Getting Hotter

Quote:
Integrating federal research efforts of many agencies and literally thousands of scientists, it reports that the global climate disruption now under way is already damaging U.S. water resources, agriculture and wildlife and is expected to keep doing so -- often worsening -- for "the next few decades and beyond."
And more.

I think it's safe to say that Bush, not to mention all of the aforementioned government agencies, are not in the pocket of the evil, liberal, feminist, Communist world conspiracy the deniers are always going on about?

It's pretty sad when even George W. Bush is more pro-environment than you.

I think you fuckers even lost Pat Robertson.

No, it's just ignorant to refer to it as being "pro environment."

I'd say it's more about being pro-"not living in lala land," which ironically is a form of ignorance as well.

So if you don't believe in global warming, you're anti-environment.

Hoss.

Anyone that is set on their opinion for one side or the other is an idiot and closed minded. People may have a side they are trying to prove, but to say all research is done and we know all the answers is silly.
