+1 Internets | What to buy with $1,500 bonus? Long story short I got an unexpected 2k award through work, and the wife is going to let me do what I want with it... ends up being about $1,500 I figure. So the question is this: What would you do, or recommend me do, with a 'free' $1,500 out of the clear blue? I was debating upgrading my computer, and going with a desktop replacement laptop. My current desktop is a 2.4ghz P4 with 1g ram, 128 mb 5900XT geforce, etc etc... I am looking at Dell Vostro's, 1500 with a bunch of upgrades that ends up being just shy of $1,200. I could go another desktop with SLI, but the idea of mobility is appealing. Some other 'practical' ideas are: pay off car loan, put in savings, take a long weekend vacation somewhere, buy digital SLR camera, etc. My buddy says to get a 360 and a couple games, but I already have a Wii. A married co-worker was mentioning how far 1k would go with some strippers some weekend when the misses is away, and I couldn't even tell if he was kidding... Anyway, thoughts? Suggestions? What would YOU do if you got a $1,500 bonus?? |

+16 Internets | Putting my $7000 bonus in the bank /boring. Would've been double that but I didn't start working until halfway through the year. Either way, pay off car loan or put it in the bank! I am however going to spend around $1500-2000 to build myself a new PC sometime in the next couple months.

| I have no debt, I'd put it into savings... or buy new Ski's.

+1 Internets | To all those who'd pay off debt, would you do it if your only 'real debt' was a little over a grand on a car loan? By real I mean not counting mortgage or my wife's low-interest school loan... Already have a 50" 1080p, so that option is out! I really don't want to be boring and just pay off the car loan, cause we'll have it paid off in about 5 months anyway... ![]() |

| find a hobby you enjoy that might otherwise have been putting off to entry costs, and jump in. simple glass work setups are like $300, or you could get into some woodworking and buy that kinda tools. or just buy a badass gun. nothing is more fun then a 2nd penis that kills people.
