| Yoggie Pico. Friend just got this neat little toy and I thought I would post here and ask if this thing actually works or is a total piece of garbage. Would this replace all the firewall, anti-virus, and anti-spyware programs that need to be loaded on a computer to keep your shit safe? Yoggie - Laptop Security Firewall Appliance Solution ![]()

+2 Internets | The site says Quote:
The site also mentions it's Linux-based with 13 applications on it. Just about all the features provided by their "13 applications" can pretty much be accounted for by running: Shorewall, DansGuardian, Squid, ClamAV, OpenVPN, and probably some light, locally running webserver to access/configure everything. While that sort of setup would protect your whole network if installed on a machine acting as the gateway, it can also be a bitch to set all of it up. They list the Firewall Pico for $109, which really isn't that bad for a mobile solution (if it really does everything that it lists well). I'd also be interested in hearing from someone who's experienced with the above applications and seeing how it compares. | |
