Kwame Kilpatrick - Worst Mayor Ever

Man this pisses me off. It pisses me off so much I want to make a forum post just to let as many people as I can know how much he sucks at being Mayor.

Basically, I live near Detroit, but not in it, so I can't vote for who is mayor. I also work in the automotive industry so my career is heavily influenced by Detroit.

Right now we have a total-shit mayor. He has a huge list of dirty laundry that has consistently made itself public over his time in office. Just this week he admitted to lying under oath about having sexual relations with his Chief of Staff.

So he makes a formal apology. And what do the good citizens of Detroit do? They fucking throw a rally saying how it's okay and everyone deserves a second chance.

Numerous times has proof come up against him that he used money in the civic budget to buy things for him and his family. Expensive getaways, cars, you name it. Hell in 2002 he had a huge party at a city owned mansion with strippers, government officials and policemen. This lead to a lawsuit settling in 9 million and a dead stripper with a bunch of bullets that were issued to Detroit police officers.

He's also more or less a thug and pushes people around (which I guess is kind of cool). On his way to apologize to committing perjury, he was shoving around reporters and punched this camera chick in the face. One of the media guys that asked him who this lady was that he (the mayor) stayed with for a few nights reported this on the radio, "What you didn't see was the mayor's men pushing me into the back of the SUV and kneeing me in the crotch and telling me to Chill out."

He and his cabinet got sued by a few police officers for some whistleblower law. Bottom line is the city has to pay the officers $8million. Kwame claimed it was the wrong verdict caused by racist white jurors (pretty much everyone in the metro detroit area goes to jury duty in Detroit). Because where are all the jurors from Detroit? Skipping jury duty. Oh, and the only black guy on the jury voted against him.

Oh, and how does Kwame propose to pay for the lawsuit? He wants to sell 92 City Parks (124 acres of land) in Detroit, which will generate almost enough to cover the settlement.

This is reason #12 why Detroit, Michigan and the American Auto Industry is in such bad shape.

Having spent a fair share of time in Detroit , and personally believing that politicians should represent the people that put them in office , I'd say he fits like a glove.

Tho he still isn't top tier as far as fucked up politicians go....

The previous mayor of a city I live near is in jail for arranging for two fifteen year olds to meet him at a hotel room for sex. If I remember right the "girls" (it was a sting set up by the FBI) asked him to bring meth and he was caught with that as well.

You don't even have to live in a big city to be secure in the knowledge that politicians are the lowest form of life on Earth.
