Blackberry Curve 8310

Ok so, this is the first time I've had a phone that wasn't about 4 years behind American standards, so like...

... what is some cool and useful shit I can do with my Curve to not brick it, but spruce it up a little?

Anyone else have one that can offer some advice?

I love my Pearl =\ Had it for about hmm 5 months now. The only thing I don't like is the volume doesn't get loud enough on the ear piece.

My blackberry bricked after a few months and I got an iPhone. I'm enjoying my iPhone, but if I had to really rely on it for email the thing would suck. However youtube + iPod + safari = win

I've had two Blackberries brick. A 8700g and then a fucking old 6xxx model that I was given by a friend as a replacement while I decided what I wanted to get. Ended up getting the Curve 8310 also. <3 Ebay...

Got a Curve about a week ago. Absolutely love it so far.

Can't comment on the OP as I haven't really done anything fancy with it yet, just loaded some Google apps. Definitely checking out the site linked above though.

I really need to start comming to General more often.

8320's have a SNES compatible emulator. Can't stand the grind of a data room ? See how far you can clear star road before the paint dries, or their council looses his voice.

Guess I'll just post this here instead of bumping the otherwise dead iPhone thread again. I ended up picking up a Curve 8320 through T-mobile after checking it out based on the recommendations from here.

Just wanted to say the advice was definitely spot on. This phone is sweet. Similar to the OP this is the first time Ive had a cell phone that is anywhere near current. Only problem is T-mobile's network. Here at my place I get no signal. It is not an issue at home because I can connect to my wi-fi. I just hope that the signal is good enough in the places I normally find myself without wi-fi available. All my friends who have T-mobile live closer to the city (DC) and they had nothing but good things to say about the signal strength and T-mobile in general. Unfortunately, I'm really rocking the (extended) suburbs so I'm worried what the network is like out here even though the online map showed my whole area covered. They were right about T-mobile's customer service being good (well, at least for a cell phone company). Dealing with a rep at the T-mobile store was like a birthday party compared to Verizon. Their plans were also roughly 30-40 bucks cheaper than at&t or Verizon.

I have 14 days to return for a full refund, which should be plenty of time to give the network a test spin. I really hope it works out because so far I'm loving the phone and would really prefer to give T-mobile my business based on my initial interaction with them.

I guess I'm also in the market for some cool accessories/add-ons. Ive been cruising around crackberry and pinstack but this is my first time with any type of advanced phone so I feel like a total noob trying to figure out what stuff is worthwhile or won't fuck up the phone. OtterBox Defender Series for BlackBerry Curve 8320, Curve 8310, Curve 8300 - ShopCrackBerry
seemed liked a nice case, didn't know if anyone had one they found particularly useful. Guess I'm somewhat paranoid about trying to keep it in decent shape (for as long as I can at least).

Thanks again FOH, the Consumer Reports for the internet generation indeed.

I have family just outside DC. I had horrible issues with T-mobile when I was down there a few months ago.

I have no problem with them in NH, Long Island or Middle of Fucking Nowhere Montana.

Well, I really hope you're wrong or it was some fluke . Seriously though, I do have a feeling it may not give me adequate coverage in the areas I frequent based on how the signal is non-existent at my place. I would really love to not give anymore money to Verizon, their signal owns this area but fuck does dealing with them blow. At least Ive got 2 weeks to give this one a try, it really is a fun phone to play around with. Here's to hoping!

I know this should go without saying, but if after a few weeks you suddenly can't make/receive calls, even with a strong signal, pull the battery out for 2 minutes and put it back in.

Out of our ~1000 bb users, we've gotten about 50 or so reporting this happen to them within the last 3 months with the curve and pearl.

Though to be honest, if your BB is ever acting funky, pulling the battery for a minute is some kind of magic voodoo that fixes 9 out of 10 problems.

The same type of thing happened to my pearl. For some reason when using opera mini it would freeze up and then I would have to pop out the battery and restart it. Of course it was then good to go.

OK any solution for this problem?

Only pearl, back, option, green, red key work.

Actual pearl has remapped itseld so down, right work fine. Left, up are Q and/or E no other keys other then the above mentioned work. This is the second pearl I've had in a row with this remapping issue.
