Have you just been trolling all this fucking time or do you REALLY not know?

Oh well, I guess if you call living without your basic freedoms, or a country where your unalienable rights dont exist is better than the US, you got me.

Censorship, non-existant freedom of press, cover ups, oppression of it's own citizens in often a brutal manner to this very fucking day. We are talking about shit that is happening say 20 30 40 50 100 years ago. But here, this wasnt hard to find:

Chinese proud of being Chinese? Chinese proud of being from China? Say it so Grobbee.

Come on Grobbee - whatever injustice may be transpiring in the US, they are nothing compared to China.

You went to Kent state right? You think 4 dead students in 1970 was bad?

That's a big fucking LOL, try 120,000 students in a protest with 7,000 dead in 1989.

This wasn't Mao. This was our own beloved Deng Xiaoping.

Shit like this makes me question our government everyday. We rail about sending jobs overseas, but no one ever questions why at the very least we dont send jobs over the border.

Why for the love of god to we reward China for abusing human rights on daily basis. For what? Cheap goods? Why the fuck cant we reroute those jobs to Mexico?

At least then we would be developing North America, as opposed to Asia. But what the fuck do I know. Seems a lot more patriotic to do things that way then our current form. Could you imagine the state of Mexico if they were given the same opportunities that China has gotten?

that would be a wonderful thing i think. imagine if all the jobs in china (that the USA is responsible for) were in mexico. there'd be a ton more wealth there and a lot of jobs. i imagine our immigration issues would lighten up a lot and maybe go away after a number of years. reminds me of that future immigrant south park episode.

This is why tyranny must be confronted everywhere, continuously. It is the reason why we must confront our own governments who make trespasses on our own freedoms and privacies during times of war and yet ALSO why we must fight economically, diplomatically AND militarily against Islamic theocracies and Communist imperialism. It is not a slippery slope argument to say that when you give those in power an inch they will use that power to take a mile. It is just the nature of concentrated power itself.

120000 died in Tienanmen Square? Last I checked, estimates ranged from the laughable 241 from the Chinese Government to 7000 from NATO.

Sure Dis. That wikipedia article contained criticisms on the number, but it surely didn't throw the entire system under the bus. If you have some independent source that shows the quality of life in the United States to be superior to those ranked above it in the HDI, I'd love to see it.

But more on topic, here is how the world health organization ranks the health care systems in the world.

If you can't find us, we're 37th.
Yes! Fuck you Slovenia (38th) and Cuba (39th).

I wonder how we rank when you consider infant mortality rates. Ouch.

There is a healthcare crisis in America. Look at the facts for 5 minutes and it's an easy conclusion to reach. We're the wealthiest nation in the world, and we don't take better care of our babies than Cuba.

It makes me sick that so many of you run here to defend it.

I don't know how you could fit 120,000 Chinese in that place, much less kill them all. Dang.

In response to the WHO:
Quote:
The debate about U.S. health care concerns questions of access, efficiency, and quality purchased by the high sums spent. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2000 ranked the U.S. health care system first in both responsiveness and expenditure, but 37th in overall performance and 72nd by overall level of health (among 191 member nations included in the study).[64][65] The WHO study has been criticized by free market advocates because "fairness in financial contribution" was used as an assessment factor, marking down countries with high per-capita private or fee-paying health treatment.[11] One study found that there was little correlation between the WHO rankings for health systems and the satisfaction of citizens using those systems.[66] Some countries given the highest ratings by WHO were ranked poorly by their citizens. Others note that the WHO analysis does reflect system "responsiveness", and argue that this is a superior measure to consumer satisfaction, which is influenced by expectations.[67]
In response to the CIA WorldFactBook:
Quote:
The CIA World Factbook ranked the United States 41st in the world for lowest infant mortality rate[68] and 45th for highest total life expectancy.[69] A recent study found that between 1997 and 2003, preventable deaths declined more slowly in the United States than in 18 other industrialized nations.[70] On the other hand, the National Health Interview Survey, released annually by the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Health Statistics reported that approximately 66% of survey respondents said they were in "excellent" or "very good" health in 2006.[71] According to a 2006 study published by The Lancet, survival rates in the US for certain types of rare cancer are the highest in the world.[72][73]

Even though you seem hellbent on saying that are healthcare system is inadequate, which I disagree with. I would agree to say that it is quite inefficient. Where I am apprehensive is not about change for the better, but the method of change. I have a current lack of faith in our government, as seemingly every important issue we have is either not getting taken care of, or we are headed in the wrong direction completely. This isnt just a Bush thing, but a Democratically lead Congress thing as well. I am extremely apprehensive about allowing our government to manage mine/our healthcare.
