I'm not pushing to make Hilary look better, just McCain to have an easier time winning the general election.

I wish NC (my state) had voted for Hilary. GD dumbass liberals can't even vote for the liberal to keep our red state in supply of red presidents... That's what ya get for 49th in education though...
I'm always curious as to if people just vote republican (or democrat for that matter) just because they like rooting for a team, their team. Do you not care what that candidate stands for on singular issues, or do you just vote based on red or blue and fuck the issues?

Doesn't Edwards get to declare where his delegates go?

Strictly speaking, the delegates themselves get to decide how to vote at the convention. They could still cast their votes for Edwards if they so wanted.

After the primaries/cacauses are over, each candidate gets to appoint people to serve as the delegates they won in that congressional district. (Usually this is done by the candidate's people on the ground in that state and not the candidate themselves.) These delegates are picked due to their severe loyality to the candidate selecting them to reduce the chance they vote for someone else at the convention. However, these delegates usually follow the endorsement of their candidate when their guy drops out of the race. They don't have to, but it's highly likely.

No, but historically the vast majority of those delegates end up wherever the former candidate asks them to go. Keep in mind though that even pledged delegates (the ones won from the actual primaries) do not have to vote for who won their district so once a candidate drops out, they have no obligation whatsoever.

I think it's pretty clear Obama was saving this announcement for his next big loss (West Virginia).

Well played Obama.

The real interesting part of the Edwards endorsement is that if his delegates do decide to all follow his lead and vote for Obama at the convention, Edwards just single-handedly wiped away Clinton's entire "landslide victory" in WV. That's just hilarious to me.

why are you surprised? Edwards is a politician and made the best decision for him.

This endorsement is like a superbowl event. On every cable news channel...except FOX. No mention of it there. Just their daily Obama bashing.

Smart to do it in Michigan.

And the retards in the audience 'boo' when Clinton's name is mentioned... shameful...

Negative campaigning or not, she'd still be a positive force in the world if she were the nominee instead of Obama.

Edwards is handling that well. He got them to cheer for Hillary.

That's pretty big, Edwards seems like a good guy to me, and this is probably the single biggest endorsement still out there. Outside of Ron Paul, I was pulling for him this year. I sure know how to pick a winner, gd!
