| This is kinda neat. Now that Obama has (almost) sealed the nomination, no one in the Obama camp is bothering to vote in any more primaries. I wonder if they realize that an epic win from Clinton will result in her ability to throw around more ammo. I mean really, we all knew Clinton would win in West Virginia, but 66% to 23% ? Come on. |

She's not on her 'A' game, but let's be real. Wyoming is the least populated state in the Union. The fact that she's even there is something...at the very least. Living in a "flyover" state myself, I know that it matters when a national politician pays attention to us. I can only assume Wyoming feels the same. I am finding it difficult to blame anyone for speaking there, even if it's only for a day. I'm no Hilary fan. I'm also no, "I love Obama so much that I will YouTube an embarrassing sneeze from Hilary if I get the chance!!!1" fan. The "piling on" that I see recently from Obama people is a tad bit disappointing and immature. Don't get me wrong, I voted for him in the primaries. But if I am going to vote for him in November....well....so far it won't be thanks to the masses of the typical Obama supporters. Cretins, most of them. Not to single you out Drave, btw. Just to use your post as a parlay into what I'm thinking as a whole.

+15 Internets | Not voting for someone because of comments from random people on the internet seems like even worse a reason than not voting for him over wright. If he only had mature and well educated supporters, he'd get beaten by Gravel. |

I'm only pointing out, here on foh, that this particular subset of the foh populace is no different than what I experience on a random daily basis in either conversation or the mass media. Soriak. Man you make me want to hug you and at the same time punch you in the face...almost daily. Feel free to take that as a compliment.

And by random, I mean people not hired by the Obama campaign. I'd take comfort in knowing the lunatics on the other side are even crazier: Hillary Is 44 (why would they use a picture of her from 10 years ago?)I'd find a forum for McCain, but it appears his supporters are too old to use the internet. There's one for McCain here: John McCain Forum - Topix But the top couple posts are about Obama and Clinton. Yeah, internet posts and not real life... though the US campaign is in the news here a lot, I haven't met anyone who favored McCain. ![]()

| Ok. So, I'm not sure I'm following you. I should base my vote for President on what their hired thugs say? Ok let me just cleave to it then: I base my vote basically, on what EVERYONE says. Internets, hired goons, media, random people, work people, professors, experts, insiders, family, whatever. I listen to them all, process it in my little primate brain, weigh the pros and cons, and try my very best to make a good decision. I'm sorry, but that's the best I can do. Maybe you were born with a perfect political compass implanted in your head. I'm sorry that I was not. And when I say, "What they say..." I don't mean opinions only, I mean facts also (because now-a-days, even those tend to be opinions at times..you have to sift through the shit). Should I make sure, from now on, that all opinions and facts I learn of from ANY source are filtered through the Swiss-Soriak paragon of political true north? Lo and behold, AngryGerbil listens-to, processes, and considers what other people say and think! Even internet people like Drave! Woe be unto me! Maybe I should just tell them all to fuck off and sit here and pretend I know the absolute answer to everything ever. Or, maybe people who think they know the absolute answer to everything are the most delusional of them all. |

| Thats interesting AG. My vote has nothing to do what anyone else says, other than the candidate himself, and things specifically connected to the candidate. the moment you take a lot of peoples words - even from multiple places, you're weighing an influence. You're just taking those influences, and allowing yourself to be swayed by the majority. Unless, of course, 99% of the people you talk to say one thing and 1% says another, and you agree with the 1%, you would probably still vote for the 99% (unless I'm reading your post wrong) Then again, its also your vote, so really, you should be able to vote however you wish to and come to your conclusion however you wish to, without anyone telling you otherwise ![]() |

| Well, yeah. We all come to the conclusion of who we vote for in our different ways, but the fact remains that we do it based on the information we've gathered. The fact also remains that unless you are Ted Koppel or something, you probably got that information from someone else. We are all free to get that information from whomever we want. Some of us get it only from Fox, or only from Newsweek, or only from (as Soriak would charge) 'the internet', or only from Church or only from our friends, or only from school. Fair enough. If you trust that source, then go for it. I was only saying that I like to get it from as many sources as possible. Even the shitty ones, like the internet. Because even they have value if only to help put things in perspective. "Know thy enemy" and shit. It's late and I'm in a cranky mood. Tomorrow I'll probably not care about Soriak anymore but tonight he pressed my buttons. Damn Euro. |

+15 Internets | Angry, I just meant to say you shouldn't be discouraged by people who aren't the candidate or directly involved with the campaign. There's nothing Obama can do to stop strangers from being lunatics - online or offline. Just saying his supporters shouldn't be held against him. I'm not at all opposed to getting informed online, I do it myself all the time. Misunderstanding here, maybe? ![]() |
