If that was the intent of your question, it started when Bush got "elected" the first time (I used quotes for the Democrats), and then just got worse since then. The vitriol and animosity grew at an exponential rate the second time Bush got "elected" and the Dems about lost their collective minds.
To this day, some Dems refuse to believe that Bush was ever the actual President.

I think at this point, Bush could cure cancer in his spare time and charge $3 per dose, and Democrats would complain that he was gouging the consumer.

I agree with sunder that the vitriol was there long before the bush era....

but im over the election as a democrat.

what pisses me off is the lying (on both sides). im sick of being lied to. if you have to cover something up legitimately in the interest of national security thats fine.

My favorite quote of the whole election so far I heard on the radio when the Clinton/Obama race/gender thing came up a week or more ago.

This was when they were agreeing to not mention race and gender and move on.

The only good thing to come out of this is that maybe the misguided Blacks who only vote Democrat will start to see the party for what it is and distribute their votes to the Republicans in the future. The important thing is staying on message. They repeat the same thing, with the same inflection, and work it into different discussions as often as possible. That and the Clinton hand thing, make a fist with your hand, thumb on top, and gently move the hand up and down to emphasize poins. Occasionally, point with the fisted hand. Stay on message. Smile. Occasionally point.

Which anyone who knows anything about politics will tell you, was one of the best moves ever in politics. This simple gesture resonates so well in the subconscious it's nearly unbelievable. One of the great political tactics used by Bill in his campaigns, irregardless of what else he said or did.

You keep missing the best part of your quote, the last line. The dictionary that you are so vehemently defending is telling you not to use the damn word. That means that the makers of the dictionary who define proper english prose are telling you not to use it, it isn't good enough. Stop getting so angry that I called you out.
