| Ebay scammers/price pushers Okay so I've come across a few extra Wiis that I'm going to sell this season to make an extra buck. I've been checking Ebay and they are going pretty high, but I am noticing a trend on almost every ending auction. There are 15-30 bids and 90% of them are Ebay members with less than 30 feedback, a lot of the times 0 feedback, and names like this: 2***a 3***c l***2 m***s Are these Ebay scammers trying to inflate the price of the Wii more gradually as the season approaches? Anyone have experience with this? What's going on? The x***x names never win the auction though, a normal name with low feedback, sometimes, often times, 0 feedback wins it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, for curiosity's sake.

They are. Its the sellers that are winning. (The ** names bid the Wii up to a certain price, but let a regular user win it in the end. Basically making sure that all Wiis sell for a certain price so that way they get higher bids on the ones they are selling.)

| So they do this rather than having a friend bid high because it looks better with 25+ bids? Looks more attractive like alot of people want it so it tricks them?

| Can someone explain this to me? I seriously don't get it. Do they have a bot program that automatically bids 1 dollar over the highest bidder or something? If not, how do they not accidentally bid to high and lose the auction as a no sale? Are the x***x real ebay accounts?

| Yeah, they'd have to be. You know they could just proxy bid as high as they want to risk it.

| I just find it weird because some of the bids mid auction are real names? Is it an addon or something? Also found it weird that most had very low feedback. And then found it very weird when I put a Wii up for 24 hrs and had 1 bid on 1 and 0 bids on the other at $392 when these others are $450+

| Dudes at work do this with Detroit Tiger Tickets all the time. They split the season tickets and knowing they are hot, one will post them, and another dude will make a few bids to raise the price. Works like a charm. I even put in some bids for them once in a while when asked. So if these noobs do this, im sure some of the bigger sellers which make a business out of ebay are doing the same.
