+2 Internets | They don't really have any competition yet (size wise), prices will drop later and specs will go up once other manufacs jump in. Below this size you have the Nokia Nseries and above you have standard laptops. Maybe there's some others about the same size, but they haven't caught my attention. |

Competition. Albeit pricy competition, the product is vastly superior tech. http://www.oqo.com/media/product_video_rev_10small.mov EDIT: Added video link. Last edited by Aulirophile; 11-07-2007 at 10:31 AM.. | |

+7 Internets | It is indeed awesome. I have a picture somewhere of a guy who integrated it into his car, built a little custom dock and all. He keeps his music on it and uses the Sprint cellular internet thing, so he's connected wherever he goes and has his music. If he's near a hotspot he can use it as a phone (softphone installed on the thing), he should be able to do the same thing with his Sprint cellular internet but they cache the signal to prevent that, though since his area upgraded to Rev. A he's had much better luck with it. |

| I was actually considering one of them for my fiance since she wanted to get a laptop, but I knew if it was too big or too much of a hassle to take with her she would not use it. That and she likes to use it in awkward places like the bed which would be good for the EEE PC. The lack of a optical drive is a bit dissapointing, though she has a 30GB Ipod she could stream movies to it from so she could still watch movies on it. Also, since the storage capacity after the OS is only like 1.3GB you would definitely need to do something to compensate for it. I figured a 4GB flash drive would work fine for providing additional storage and she would never really need to take it out. For those times you absolutely need a optical drive, you could get a external optical drive. The 2amps or whatever it is off of the USB will not be enough to power those and they will require a wall plug to run them, so they won't be too portable, but could create a docking station at home with decent speakers, a full size keyboard, and possibly a external monitor, along side a external optical drive and you could have a complete solution. For even additional storage, you could get one of those 2.5" external HDDs that recieve all their power over USB for ultra portability and accessability. Lots of stuff to consider. Anyone know how accessible printer software for major printers will be with it? |

| Why not do the One Laptop Per Child, give one get one: One Laptop Per Child -- XO Giving Granted, the green makes it look a little Fisher Price but other than that it has more interesting specs. |

+2 Internets | HP announced their own HP launches the Linux Powered Mini Note Micro Notebook | Geeky Gadgets Intel has started calling them "netbooks," will be cool to watch this form factor develop over the next few years and with hopefully cheaper flash drives. I've enjoyed it for taking notes during lectures, but the 7inch screen is slightly annoying for browsing and such. The newer model of the eee will have 9inch which would be satisfactory for most pages I think. Forgot about this video I made after installing Ubunutu. |

| I'm just afraid that the keyboard is going to be TOO small to be usable in lectures to take notes. I'm not worried about screen size as I am about accuracy. The OCO is gorgeous, by the way. 120GB of fucking HDD.
